   Trying to get more traffic, No idea how backlinking works, pasting hyperlinks,when they ask you to paste their link to your site, is there a specific place? Sorry, it's more like old
   dinosaur on the internet.

   Don't feel like that!
   You can search for backlinks, hyperlinks, SEO etc on Hub Pages and get tons of free info!
   There are a lot of very knowledgeable Hubbers out there that have some awesome Hubs.

   Don't feel bad, there are many of us who feel like we are dinosaurs on the HUB PAGES. I enjoy writing and communicating but sometimes don't understand how to get into the right game.  I just want the communication and experience of writing, and hopefully something will spike a person's interest and maybe a little in my bank account.  Have fun learning. My grandfather always said, when you stop learning, you die.  I remember him dying in my arms, looking at me, and said I love you even though he didn't know exactly what was going on. A great man was Ank. Keep going for it all my friend.

   Don't worry about backlinking yet. Get the whole keyword thing down first -- how to select them, where to put them in your hub and how often. When you get that one down pat, then move onto backlinking!

   I think we all start out as idiots online, read everything you can here and you'll be amazed at how quickly you can pick things up.  check out relache, darkside, sunforged for their 'how to hubs', also yoshi has some very helpful how to's. 
   
   I went through and bookmarked all the how to hubs and am still going back and reading them cuz I have so much to learn. backlinking is still something I have to figure out better.
   
   good luck and I would encourage anyone coming here to write to take advantage of all the free resources.  many people go to school to learn this stuff and they're willing to give advice without hesitation.

   You're not an idiot or a dinosaur, you just need to be more patient, and keep creating original content. My advice would be to keep writing about what you're interested in while you learn about how to generate traffic.
   
   Once you've got a few tips together you can start to introduce some of these ideas into your articles. It's always better to have plenty of content (hubs in the case of hubpages) to play with, and having lots of hubs is going to help later.
   
   I write extensively on online promotion, as do others here so read up while you're building up your own content, and your traffic will build up over time.
