There is no fast track to making money on Hubs. Just do some basic things and grow your own audience.
First, write QUALITY and INTERESTING Hubs and others will read them. If they like them they will become a follower and watch for more great works from you.
Second, Go back to your individual writings and look at what HP is suggesting for Keywords and titles and such. Follow their directions to increase your ranking in search engines.
Third, Update and Freshen your writings regularly so that your readers will come back to your works, and your audience expands with the improvements.
There is much more that you can do, but as you learn, look out for suggestions from other that tell you how to "cheat the system". They will often end hurting you and your ranking.

You need to write quality Hubs that people will want to read. first, be realistic - it's unlikely you will make any substantial amount of money on Hubpages [or any other website] unless you devote a lot of time and effort to it, treating it like the job it is [and even then much depends on your skills and the to[pics you choose].  That said, there are many reasons to write here, and additional income can be a nice side benefit.  The others have given some good places to look

here's a good example of what NOT to do:

    Hi kittykat34, welcome to Hubpages!

    1.  Go to the Learning Center http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/contents - You will learn everything you want to know (well, almost) about writing quality hubs.  I'm still learning. smile

    2.  Write about things you know or are interested in and ask yourself "Self, will other people be interested in this as well?" big_smile

    3.  Write on different topics to find your niche.

    4.  On my first month here on Hubpages, I took the "30hubs in 30days" challenge - It was very difficult for me to do, but it helped me get started and definitely helped me focused.  That might help you too.

    5.  Add related Amazon and eBay links to your hubs.  I don't have eBay, but I'm doing well with Amazon.

    6.  Patience, patience, patience -  It takes time for hubs to mature and get ranked by search engines.  On my first first month, I earned a big zero.  But on my second month I earned about $3 and had my first Amazon sale.  I was ecstatic!

I wish you all the best here on Hubpages.

    Happy hubbing!

Well, it's prob best to write about what you enjoy because it will come easy and be fun and you'll write more hubs.

Do use keywords in  your title, in your hub, and in the keyword section.

Think of hubs that are needed, like if you want to experiment on topics, do a google search like say on schzphrenia: there is not much out there on that.
