It said that it may be flagged for being over-promotional. I included links so readers could listen to some of the music I described. I am not an afffiliate or anything. Could someone tell me how I can fix it? Thank you.

I think with the message damescribe included about what is over promotional, you can see that you have too many links to the same site.  you could concentrate on a few songs that you like and include video and maybe discuss a few of the other songs.
you don't want people leaving your page too often or they might not come back and get distracted to wherever you sent them. hmm

      love the music btw!

5.My hub was flagged as overly promotional, what does that mean?
Purely promotional offers and Hubs designed only to promote other sites or businesses are not allowed. In particular, the following actions are likely to get your hubs flagged:

•linking repeatedly to the same site within a hub or across many hubs
•including links to a page that contains largely the same content as your hub
•linking to products or services unrelated to a Hub's content
•including more than 2 links to any one domain
•short "teasers" with links to "read more" at another site
•including promotional links on content that is unoriginal (i.e. not exclusive to HubPages); promotional links can only be included on content that is exclusive to HubPages
•linking to the same domain in the body of the text AND in an RSS feed
Please note that promotional links are links that you have any interest in promoting (your blog, your Website, affiliate offers, etc.). Links to well-known Web resources which you don't have any personal interest in (like Wikipedia, news sites, encyclopedias, open directories, etc.) are exempt from this limitation.

Hope this answers your question. It's a great Hub too, btw! smile Just review your links to check against the above rules. Hope that helps.

Often it's because you've linked more than twice to the same URL.  But, I didn't immediately see that in your hub.  You have to admit, when you look at your hub it's just a series of links.  That is promotional.  Perhaps writing more of your own review about them so that there is much more content than there is links.  That's my suggestion.  Are you aware that you can embed the link so that you don't see it written as a link?  That won't change things, but it does make it more pleasing to look at than a bunch of urls.

Thanks. I like to include links, especially with this kind of Hub, so folks can get a sample of what I'm talking about. Even in my non-list Hubs, I usually include a reference link. I believe the problem is linking more than once to the same sight. How long do I have to fix it before they zap me? It's bedtime now. Thanks again for your input.

Check a sample of your writing in search to see if it's the text that's duplicate. hmm

Not that I can tell.  I really don't know what else to do. Can I post the hub link here?

Up in the top left of "My Account" is a place for "Copied Hubs".  Click on that and see if it gives you any clues.  I have one right now that someone copied and posted somewhere else and clicking there told me where it was copied.

There is not a place for 'copied hubs' in the top left of 'my account'....?

When you are on "My Account" where it lists all your hubs, there is a gray box across the top that has a lot of different things.  It's the last item in the first column.

    Your Hubs
    Statistics
    Traffic
    Sources
    Broken Links
    Malicious Links
    Copied Hubs

You don't have this listed above in the first column in the upper right portion of "My Account"?

I don't have that either. only on the left hand side listed under Hubs:
      statistics
      traffic sources
      broken links
      malicious links

Nope, only the 'Deluxe' version has it, or you're just special! smile

I don't have that copied hubs either on mine and I'm having the same issue with duplicate on 2 of my hubs.  What do we do to remove this blot from our "permanent record?"  Do you have a deluxe version that we don't have?

  12. KCC Big Country profile image86
KCC Big Countryposted 13 years ago

Ok....well at least you have all the other stuff.  I have a copied hub which is maybe why I have that one and you don't.  Although if that's the way it works, why do we both have malicious links when I'm sure we both probably don't have that.

She says she has a copied hub or duplicate hub. I would think she would have that there if she did, since I do.

  13. KCC Big Country profile image86
KCC Big Countryposted 13 years ago

Well, it's a shame you don't have it, because that's where it tells you where your hub is duplicated at.

Bummer!  How about breaking that single hub down into a collection of smaller, more focused hubs?  Let's say you have 5 links to Lady GaGa songs, 5 links to Rihanna songs, and 5 links to Miley Cyrus songs.  You could break that down into three separate hubs, each with only 5 links.

  16. KCC Big Country profile image86
KCC Big Countryposted 13 years ago

As far as I know I don't have anything special.  Maybe it depends on the type of duplication.  Do you have a copyright symbol next to the hub with the duplicate content?  Or maybe that's the distinction...the note I get in the "Copied Hubs" tab says that it may be a copyright infringement (and it is) and it tells me where it is and to file a DMCA and I have.

I would contact Maddie with the HP staff to research yours if you're still having trouble.

I don't think the Copied Hub link pops up until someone copies a Hub of yours.
I didn't have one until someone did and then it appeared.
I filed the DMCAs (no word back yet, but the last time I filed one it took about 3 months...I imagine they are VERY busy people) and the Copied Hub thingy is still there.

Or maybe I just didnt notice it till someone copied one of my Hubs.
