Is there a difference between Hub Tags and Keywords?
It seems that all the research I have done tells me to add keywords to hubs.. But does that mean the tags on hub pages or should I actually be working in keywords into my text?
You should do both.
You should mention your keywords or phrases in your hub and then put the keywords that best describe your article in the tags section.
This way Google will find it easier to figure out what your hub is actually about and you should rank quicker for those terms, if there's not a lot of competition.
Thank you both very much for the information!
Tags on HubPages are not the same as tags on a blog or website, so if you've been reading about tags off-HubPages, it's not relevant.
Tags are for internal use by HubPages. They help classify your Hub and create things like the "Related Hubs" feature. They're of no value to Google.
Your keywords need to be in your Hub URL and Hub title, and mentioned often enough in your text that it's clear what your Hub is about.
I never knew that, Marisa. All this time (well, only a year or so, but seems longer...)I thought tags were about getting Google's attention - just like keywords. Never occurred to me that they're only for HP categorisation. Thanks for clarifying!

To me it's simple.A blog is a paragraph and a half of your opinion on whatever. It may get the approval and attention of your friends. But ultimately, it doesn't interest me because I have my own opinion on the subject.A hub is informative. It takes advantage of the interactive nature of videos,...

Are they different labels meaning the same things? I know it sounds stupid and basic, but I would really like to know for sure. Thanks x
