Generally it takes me three to four days to finish a hub if you consider thinking time and research etc. The actual writing takes about three to four hours with another day or two for rewrites and editing. However, I have not written a hub in a long time since nothing has struck my fancy.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who takes a couple of days. I tend to start writing a hub, wait a day, write some more, wait a day... Its terrible I think I have about 6 hubs waiting for me to finally finish them!

I have been writing crochet patterns for my hubs. Once I get a design idea, I usually take a day or two to not only make the project, but also to type it all out (including notes) as a hub.

I’ve always wanted to try to crochet – maybe I’ll have to check out some of your hubs! I can only image it would take quite a bit of work to describe a crochet pattern. Thank you for answering!

That depends on the topic that I am covering.  If it's a topic that I can rattle of from own head then probably a one hour to a few hours.  On the other hand if its something that requires me to do some research then it could take more than a few hours to a day or so.

What I found with trail and error is that the more research I do and the time I take to do my hubs the better the traffic results and earnings once its published.

Thank you for answering! It seems like it really varies not only person to person but even for individuals.

In general, too long! Probably a bit of a perfectionist, I am slightly anal when it comes to writing hubs. I wish I wasn't and would love to have the ability to write quality stuff at a decent rate! We should all be aiming to write to the best of our abilities, what's the point otherwise? Hopefully putting a lot of effort will make it worthwhile in the end, and just imagine the fun whilst trying to do so! Happy hubbing

It takes me approximately three hours to write and edit my hub. I write nothing technical. My hubs are  all about my life experience and how I got out of it and so contains just inspirational ideas.

Some Hubbers say they write a Hub in an hour!  I can't understand that.  Unless they are writing a short poem or a recipe, I can do that.  If I want to write a  Hub that I think will make me a few pennies, I will spend maybe two or three days before I hit that publish button.  It takes time to research, write, find a video I like, the summary, photos, etc.  It's a struggle for me .

I can write a short Hub off the top of my head in less than an hour, but some of my longer ones can take days. I wrote one about a heavy metal singer that actually did take me four days to finish.

Wow an hour! I’m impressed. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get my hubs down to an hour.
