Do I have to reference other peoples work within my hub? Is it the same as academic writing?
HubPages is not necessarily the same as academic writing which has a lot more rules and regulations. You do not have to have a works cited page if that is what you mean. However, referencing where you learned the information is always a good idea, especially if it isn't an original thought.
Copying word for word is plagiarism, however, and your hub will be removed for that. I believe there is information on plagiarism in the learning center that can also provide more information.
HubPages doesn't have to reference others to be a good hub though. You can share your own knowledge or opinion. The style of writing depends on you and how you want to present it. If it is a lighthearted piece then you may talk in a conversational style. If it is a more informative hub then it may be more academic in scope. However, be sure to give credit where credit is due, and do not copy large pieces of text. Hope this helps!

I am having a slight problem with an unverified person posting on one of my hubs. I am not sure if he/she simply has a screw loose, or if they are just trying to be a pain, but over the last few days they have posted on my Vegetable Growing in Containers hub about 8 times under various names,...
