Is there anyway to get credit for referring someone, if they forgot to use your referral link?
I've refereed 3 separate Friends to Hubpages this month and each time I can only imagine that they must have closed the page and done it another day when they had time, despite me explaining to them that they needed to go through my link.
I did this exact same thing with my referee and now they are loosing out on 10% of my earnings, which with my growing success on Hubpages is becoming an increasing loss by the month.
Is there anyway that I and my referee can still get credit for showing that we introduced these people to Hubpages?
It seems to be a flawed system..
I really wish that the system picked up referrals based on where the traffic came from rather than a referral/tracker url. For example, if someone searches for "Totally awesome hub" in Google and gets to your hub, decides they'd like to sign up to HubPages, they should be considered your referral.
Put your tracking number on everything you can. Stick that join hub pages link on your profile and hubs. If it is a friend, email them the link. You can't get credit later, but don't worry. I doubt if you will lose much money.
This happened to me, CCahill. I told a friend to join Hubpages and he did without going through my referral link. When I explained to him about the referral system and that I won't be credited as his referral, he immediately emailed Hubpages and explained the situation. Hubpages gave me the referral.
Perhaps if your friends emailed Hubpages and explain what happened, Hubpages will do the same for you.
I also joined Hubpages through someone's link, but I can't remember who it was. I was new to writing online and didn't know about referral earnings. I just joined Squidoo at the time and was having difficulty with HTML. So when I read a lens about Hubpages, I clicked, I joined, and the rest, as they say, is history. lol
I hope Hubpages gives you the referral credits. All the best.

I referred a friend to Hubpages and asked her to sign up from my profile page, which she did. But, for some reason, HubPages didn't recognize the association.
My friend was excited and told me when she signed up, but I did not see the association on my referral report. After about a week of allowing the system to show the association, I sent an email to HubPages about my referral. HubPages sent an email to my referral asking whether or not my referral actually was associated with me (which I thought should be an uncecessary step). Nevertheless, my friend sent a "yes" reply and now I see my friend in my referral report.
I think the process should be automatic, but that's just me. In any event, HubPages did act diligently once I alerted them of the situation. That, I give to their credit.
On the other hand, I think if we are not personally familiar with the people we refer to HubPages, we might lose out on opportunities. I believe HubPages wants us to be happy with the referral system. Whether there is a kink in the system or some other reason why we do not automatically receive credit, I think we should stay keenly aware of the people we refer to HubPages. Stay in contact with them and be a mentor to them along the way.
I think you can have multiple accounts on HubPages. Having said that, your first account won't earn you referral money, but you could ask your friend to sign up for a second account using your link with your tracker code. You would have to write a hub, too, preferably more. I don't know if this is legal or considered black hat, so read http://alhamora.hubpages.com/question/1 … e-account.
Maybe this could help?
Good luck.

I just started hubbing and I was wondering if those who had been here a while could let me know what kind of results they have had with the referral program? Has anyone tried running advertisements with their hubpage url anywhere? What kind of results did that get? Thanks!

I get the tracking code concept. What I can't find is a page to send new users to that gives them all the great reasons they should join and links it to my account so I get the referral. Anyone have a suggested way they refer other writers to HubPages in a simple way that I can...

I have a friend who is interested in joining hubpages. I have read the "learning Center" direction---I'm embarrassed but I still don't understand the steps in the referral process--so that I receive credit. Please help.
