How long did it take you to reach your first Hubpages pay out?
Hey there! I was just wondering how long it took you to reach your first Hubpages pay out? If you've been with Hubpages for a few years or so, do you now get payments regularly, or does it still take a few months to get enough traffic? I've only been with Hubpages for three weeks or so and I'm very happy with the progress I've made so far - although, at this rate, I won't be getting paid anytime soon!
Hello, no have only just joined sorry. any advice would be great though as I see your rating is really high. do you comment a lot on other hubs and create new hubs a lot to increase this? thanks!
Hey! I try to get as involved as I can by leaving comments on Hubs and in the forums, answering questions.. I've also been taking part in the 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge so I've published quite a few Hubs in just a couple of weeks. Hope that helps!
Hi Rebecca, I'm new to Hubpages and today I found your question. It was 3 months ago and I wonder if you got your first payout?
I have been on for less than a week so I am also interested to see what some experienced hubbers have to say on this. I have been very impressed with HubPages as a whole, so far running into very encouraging people. I have set the following goals for myself though in hopes of getting my rating up there:
1. 30 hubs in 30 days (are you suppose to sign-up for this somewhere or just do
it on your own?
2. Read and comment on at least 2 hubs a day
3. Post in Forums daily
4. Post 2 Questions daily
Figure it can't hurt and I am a "goal-orientated" type person so Anyways...cool questions and I look forward to following it's responses.
You don't have to sign up for it, you just start it whenever you feel ready - you can read the rules here: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/17849 . Good luck with your goals!
I haven't gotten payout yet, but if I go the way I'm going, I'll get $50 total by the middle of next month, and I posted my first Hub April 23rd. So four months to reach $50 but I don't think I'll get paid till September. Unless I'm wrong about how the system works.
About the Hubs - 30 in 30 days is great, and you will get good traffic from HP by posting about interesting stuff. It'll take a little while for Google to find you, it took me about six weeks. I might go a week without publishing a Hub, but then I might put up three or four in one day. I don't use the forums at all, but I answer a lot of questions and comment on a lot of Hubs.
Thanks for answering! Do you get a lot of traffic from google? I've been a member for 4 weeks now and I've only got about 20 views from google - hopefully it will improve over time!
I have almost 12,000 total views, and about 50% of them right now are from Google. The percentage of total hits from Google though is going up the longer I'm on HP. My first full month, it was about 3%.
Most of my views right now are from facebook and stumbleupon, though I only have about 1,400 views so far. Hopefully that'll go up if Google decides it likes me!
Your followers will help your numbers, too, especially if they share your Hubs. My second biggest source of traffic is HP.
I hit my first payout in month 6 and will get paid in month 7. My traffic has been increasing steadily and even more since I've gone back, dumped my worst hubs and am now redoing the other 98! My advice to everybody is to take your time and learn slowly. It will pay off in the long run.
Thanks for the advice and the encouragement!
This is great advice to keep in mind. Thanks.

When I look at the questions section of hubpages I see pages and pages of silly questions. A lot of the time, when I click on "unanswered" or "latest" I see that the same person has asked ten or so questions in a row. I suspect that in most cases this is because of the fact that...

Many people writing different things. But I and I'm sure that many other people would like to know the potential of hubpages. Thanks for answers.

I know there have been a lot of changes in the air in the past 10 or so days... There was another big Panda update... then the stinkin' Penguin and all. And, HP has been tinkering around with the design of pages. My traffic has remained relatively constant through it all. But, over...

So other than the fact that Google has apparently decided I am a crappy writer and my traffic is down from 17k a day to maybe 1600... with a similar decline in income... Do we yet know why this happened? Feeling a little bitter. Have had to take on enough clients that I rarely have time to...

I've been updating and removing hubs. I haven't settled on a plan for good hubs that don't get traffic. Curious what others do. My top 40 hubs are 85% of traffic. I culled the heard and have been focused on my best hubs.Once I'm through them I'll come up with a plan for the rest.

I know I'm starting another lost traffic thread, (geesh, enough already), but...Here's why. As it has been noted, HP has suffered, site-wide - all of us - even the touted success stories, traffic loss due to Google's year-long algo changes. That's the BIG problem that is almost only solvable by...
