In all my experience, and everywhere I have looked, I always see people saying never buy backlinks. Perhaps a few years ago it would be beneficial but these days, it is a bit of a risk that whomever you pay for the backlinks might spam websites or blogs and incite the ire of Google. So, nope, it is not a god idea to buy backlinks.
Only if you want to make sure you violate Google's terms so as to guarantee your account with them is banned forever. (buying backlinks is a major TOS violation)
Not only do you risk being blackballed by Google when you suddenly have hundreds of links appear, many of the backlink sellers give you low quality backlinks from sites in other countries, not even in English.
