It appears to be very quiet. Anyone want to come shake things up a bit? Open discussion. Questions. Idea. Whatever?

Have too many drinks, get belligerent, attack people, sleep it off, apologise and promise to behave. And then repeat next Friday.

Start a thread about how evolution is bogus or god is fake in the religious forum... that's bound to start some heated arguments...

Playing with some new marketing tools and watching Stargate SG1. I never saw it the first time around but the dvd sets are nice and cheap.

That will be a cool series to watch. Especially, if you inter-planetary travel. The "Gate" I guess acts like an inter-dimensional time portal to other possible worlds.

        It's great for the imagination.

I'm really digging it so far. on season 5. One reason I held out was to make sure it was good AND had a good long run.
I am getting tired of investing time into a good show that gets canceled.

I'm looking at you Fox TV!

I do have some things to sort through, because of a series of hubs I'm putting together. Plus, I've recently downloaded some movies and tv shows I want to check out for glitches.

I wish I were drunk... maybe I'll crack a 2nd beer.  I'm flying to Australia (from So Cal) and I don't want to get sick.

Why do you depress my immune system, alcohol!?

      1. mistywild profile image60
mistywildposted 14 years agoin reply to this

take a sleeping pill on the flight, that will help big_smile anxiety meds also work very nicely.

        Where in Aus?

        1. Pr0metheus profile image59
Pr0metheusposted 14 years agoin reply to this

I'm not that nervous of a flyer.  I just don't want to get sick!  The flight leaves at 10PM so I'll probably get a good nights sleep in, then wake up and make some music for the rest of the flight (another 8 hours at least, lol).

Hi there Jewels!   I'll be in Sydney for about 4 days, just to see the city because I'll be in the area.  Then I'm going down to Melbourne (hi Earnest!), because my girlfriend's family lives down there.  We're also visiting Bright for a short period of time.  I CAN'T WAIT!  I don't travel often so this is huge for me.  I've never been to another hemisphere (let alone 2 hemispheres away).

From what I've been told I'll never want to come back to the US (not doubting it.... San Diego has a lot of lame people - conservative and liberal).  Are you around there?

          1. Jewels profile image83
Jewelsposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Hahaha, I live near Bright.  You'll love it.  But we're experiencing a heatwave - bring your swimmers.  Bright is beautiful, at the foot of Mt Buffalo and the Alpine area.

    mistywildposted 14 years ago

    welcome mate big_smile

  10. Jewels profile image83
    Jewelsposted 14 years ago

And the flight from LAX to Sydney is breezy - only 12 hours and you'll sleep for most of it.

Pr0metheusposted 14 years agoin reply to this

      Sweet!

I'll have my pooter neways tongue.  I can entertain myself for hours on end without a problem using Ableton Live 8...

  11. Pr0metheus profile image59
    Pr0metheusposted 14 years ago

Haha, oh well.  I can deal with heat!  I'm just really excited for the whole experience.  All the Australian people I've met (in real life, on hub pages, etc) have been amazingly cool people.

I do wish I could scuba near the barrier reef while I was here, but those tiny deadly jellyfish scare the crap out of me, and I won't be that far north sad.

    1. Jewels profile image83
Jewelsposted 14 years agoin reply to this

They scare the crap out of me too!  I think it's a seasonal problem so when you migrate you can pick your months!  Apparently Aus is the place to be these days smile  There are a few swimming places near Bright - one in the town itself, the other in the approaching town Porepunkah.  Have a dip.

      1. Pr0metheus profile image59
Pr0metheusposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Water pretty warm too?  I'll probably go in the ocean a little bit... but sharks scare me too.  We're kinda sheltered in San Diego.  Only one attack in like 100 years (and it was like last year).

mistywildposted 14 years agoin reply to this

my husbands business partner is from aus, he's a cool kat.

        2. Jewels profile image83
Jewelsposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Swim between the flags, the lifeguards will save you.  Hard to say what temps the sea will be at the moment.  But just do it anyway - can't come to Australia and not dip your toe in the water.  Melbourne's a great city.  I prefer it to Sydney, is more laid back.
