What happens to a hub if I un-publish it? Does HubPages still retain a copy of that work?
I wrote a 22-part fiction series that I plan to expand into a book. I've given notice to my followers that tomorrow, Monday, February 10, is the final day to read any of the episodes on HubPages. I'm going to un-publish them on Tuesday from the site. I don't want them simply deactivated, but gone from HP, and I don't want HP to retain copies. I can't find reference to this situation in the HP Learning Center. Does anyone know what exactly happens when you un-publish a hub? Thanks. JAYE
If you just un-publish a Hub it will remain on your account, and you'll be able to access it (to edit, delete, etc.) as long as it's only un-published If you delete a Hub you get a notice from HP that tells you the Hub will remain available on your account, and you can un-delete it, for up to 24 hours after you delete. They tell you that once the 24 hours is up you can't retrieve it after that. If I recall the wording correctly, it's something like "permanently deleted from our system".
If you only un-publish a Hub it will stay on your account until you delete it.
Thanks, Lisa. I hope that means that if it's "permanently deleted" from the HP site, it's not retained in any form by HubPages. That's what I've been trying to get clarified by the HP team.
