    you can't have spaces in HTML it would result in a broken link

    In URLs, spaces have to be encoded with the string %20; from HP's point of view it's easier to simply prohibit spaces and punctuation in general (which must also be encoded by funny strings starting with %).  If you want to separate words, just us a _ or - between them. For SEO purposes, underscores and dashes are preferable to %20 in the url.

      I am learning HTML and coding while not having any prior  knowledge about coding. I have learned the basics. But I think that your response will be a new direction for me.
