Am I experienced enough for a Stellar Hub?

I am a newbie with only 35 hubs so far. Do you think I am capable of making a goal that includes creating Steller Hubs? How many do you recommend during what time frame?

It kind of depends upon what you consider Stellar Hubs to be?  My best performing Hubs by views are not what I consider to be my Stellar Hubs.  I would call a Stellar Hub a Hub that thoroughly covers a topic from all angles and has plenty of supporting images and, if necessary, references.  I would say my Hub "Has Global Warming Stopped?" is one that I would consider Stellar, as it covers the topic in-depth and has a lot of supporting images and references experts to support the various points of view expressed.  I really enjoyed writing that one.  However, creating something Stellar unfortunately does necessarily translate into a Hub that does well view-wise, which can be challenging for a writer, because you want to write Stellar Hubs, but you also want people to read them.

Thank you. That was very helpful. Maybe that is what I will look into doing.

I have a hub that is 1700 words with 5 photos and to be honest, it doesn't do as well as some of my hubs with a lot less work. How much competition you have for the keywords you use has more to do with traffic than how great the hub is.

Barbara - your comment points out two important things 1 We can't compare 1 hub to another - we'd need a larger set. (I hope to compare, say 20 stellar hubs to 50 standard good hubs.) 2 I don't know how old yr stellar hub is; but some grow over time.

You can create a Stellar Hub. Here is the definition from the HubPages Learning Center: http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/Elem … tellar-Hub . Also, if you get a complete set of check marks in the guide at the upper right showing you how many words, photos, and special capsules you are using, then add two photos and a video, you have a stellar hub.

I would recommend separating learning the skills of creating a stellar hub from the process of setting productive goal setting.

After you've created about 3 stellar hubs, you'll know how long it takes to make one. And you know how many hours you work on HubPages each week. Then you can decide how many stellar hubs, and how many more ordinary excellent hubs (with say, 5 text capsules, two photos, and one other capsule) to make.

I believe the stellar hub idea is too new for us to have a clear sense of whether the payoff for the time effort is worth it. Say it takes just as long to create 2 stellar hubs as 5 excellent hubs. (That time ratio may not be right for you, either.)Which will generate more revenue? 2 Stellar or 5 excellent? I'm working towards being able to answer that question in about 6 months.

But get comfortable making stellar hubs now. It gives you maximal freedom. After that, you can make any hub stellar, or include just one special capsule. But you'll know how to do it easily.

Thank you so much! That is great advice. I really appreciate it.
