Firstly, my hub score is maintained at a very low score

Secondly, my account will not allow me to copy and paste my hub code.  The 'link to this page', the information box is set so you cant move it down to copy and paste.

Thirdly, blogger link wont allow me to publish - I get this error code:
    bX-ssciez

Can anyone enlighten me, I am starting to think there is something more sinister with my account.  Please reassure x

Thats right in the 'Link to This Page', the page wont scroll down...

        Link to this page

        1HubPages Referral Tracker

        (default tracker)
        learn more about trackers

2HTML Link Text3Paste the URL or HTML from below into your website, blog, email, comment, or hub:

Scrolling wont go any further than what I have copied and pasted for you here!

Thanks for your support.. I am starting to think there is something wrong here.. like a stop on my account (?)  Or am I being paranoid?  I hope that hubpages did believe in playing fair.

Looks like javascript error, did you try refreshing the page or changing the browser?

Do you use Internet Explorer? And if so, did it recently update to Internet Explorer 8? It sounds like the trouble I had (had automatic update function working), so I got rid of the add-ons and IE8 and used my IE7 I had originally. It helped some of the problems but not all, so then I switched to Mozilla Firefox and all the problems went away.

If you're already using Firefox, then I have no clue. I hope someone can help you.

I havent implemented any changes.  Tell me, what are the benefits of firefox?  I have tried to use it but couldnt see what good it was doing.

      Thank you for responding, btw!

Everything you are describing sounds like a technical issue with your browser.

The benefit of using Firefox is that HubPages optimizes this site to work with it.

No, it's not a problem with your account but probably with your browser or something like javascript which I'm not sure.

Well, even if 'link to this page' is not working, you can still get your tracker code from http://hubpages.com/my/trackers and manually add it to the hub URL.

Yes, I have done this.. good ole darkside taught me this in one of his hubs!  But it is easier to just copy and paste.

So you think the whole thing is to do with browser issues... Ill re download firefox and see how it goes.  Do you think I should contact hubpages?

I don't think it's needed. I hope firefox can fix it.

Please can I pick your brains further, my friend?  I have done the firefox thing and made it my default.  Is it normal to still have the internet explorer icon at the top of the page?  Should the page look different?

Firefox has it's own icon, did you try loading hubpages in it?

I'm not sure how the benefits come about, but I don't have the tech issues I had with Internet Explorer. Sometimes (with IE)I'd come to hubpages and it would allow me to do everything - except post in the body box for my articles. It was SO so frustrating! I could do the titles and lead para text, everything but the body of my work. Dialogue boxes wouldn't work, I couldn't post on Facebook one day, but the next I could. I thought it was my computer, and it turns out it was my browser. It might be worth a shot, although a shot in the dark because I'm not tech savvy.

Firefox is free, just go to mozilla.com and download it.

I think I was giving you my suggestions, and your score started to improve after you implemented them. What happened after?

I have no idea...it suddenly dropped by 10 points and I cant get it higher than the 74.  I know for a fact that at 74 and below, there is some sort of stop on traffic.  I cant help feeling there is something suspect here... especially as I have done everything to bolster the score to above.  In fact, their are less prom links than when you made suggestions!  Cant understand it!

I posted a thread about it but still havent really got to the bottom of it....

Do you think I have had some sort of unnotified suspension?  It seems really odd!

Blogger has bugs and they fix them often, I'm not sure if this one is their fault.

No, it is not about any kind of suspension, and if any kind of human action is performed against your account, you get notified by email.

I took a second look at a few of your hubs, and found at least some that are duplicate content. You have exactly the same content on myspace.

If you go to "my account" and examine the list of your hubs, you should be able to see which ones have problems, they are marked.

Yet I am not sure this is enough to solve your problem. A couple of things that you can see only by yourself is your fans/people your are a fan of ratio, and the number of spam comments you post on other hubs, if any. That's pretty much all I can think about right now...

Frankly I would write an email to Maddie and ask her, she might be able and willing to give you some hints. Good luck smile

The links on myspace are not duplicates.. they are promoting hubpages - links to hubpages only.  Or is that not allowed either?  I dont have any published on myspace.  Only one has been highlighted as a duplicate and I can not see where that has come from.. I have emailed hubpages about this 'the girl who believed in fairys'.

No spam comments - the comments made have been genuine interation.  What would be a spam comment anyway?

Ive done no fanning (only at the beginning when I knew no better and I correct that mistake!)

Who and how do I get hold of Maddie?

      Thank you again! x

I took a couple of your hubs with a lowest hubscore (not the one you published today), and searched for a short phrase from each of them on google. This is enough to see that you have more than a single hub with such a problem. smile

And Maddies email is team at hubpages dot com. smile

    You are welcome smile

Oh, I see!  If you click on the link, you will see they are all PROMOTING Hubpages and havent been published on myspace!  If promoting hubpages is a problem, do you think I should remove them?

  14. Misha profile image67
    Mishaposted 15 years ago

Well, duplicate content has nothing to do with linking. It is just that - the same exactly text on different web pages. Oh, and I did click on the link - I am THAT curious smile

The best text to use for promotion is on the same topic as the page you promote, but not identical to it. smile
