Does Hub Pages monitor comments by some writers that appear to be inflammatory or inappropriate?
How often does Hub Pages monitor hub authors and their responses to comments that may well seem uncalled for, or a defamation of character, and/or inflammatory remarks about others who make comments?
I do not think so, or there would be several on here that I know who are very rude would be warned or banned for personal attacks because of one's beliefs.
People who are truly abusive are removed frequently. You also have the option of moderating the posts on your questions and hubs. If someone is abusive report it to HP staff. If they are disagreeing with you only, that's not abuse or inflammatory. Some people take any disagreement as a personal assault when it's merely stating a contradicting opinion. It's important to distinguish - but truly abusive name calling, swearing and attacks are not tolerated on HP.
You can set your comment settings to be approved by you before they are seen by all others. Plus you can always delete such a comment and you can go under your profile settings and permanently block particular hubbers who are doing such as well. You can red flag their profile and when the reason comes up, it will give you options, i.e., abusive, etc., or you can write in your own words what the problem is that is going on. As ChristinS stated, it must be abusive and not merely a different opinion, but you still do not have to approve any comment as that is up to you.
God bless.
that depends on what you wrote as the answer or comments. Talking about anti-HP or negative opinions would definitely gets you off the discussion board or deleted by HP. Hence, try to keep your cool and comment nicely.
Yes . Right now I am dealing with a negative stalker, which started out down right abusive at first towards not only me, but also insulting my readers as well.

Do you leave negative comments from readers on your articles?I delete spam but have left comments when a person doesn't agree with me. However, I have noticed I seem to be in the minority on this because when I've left a comment disagreeing with a person (this is not just on HubPages but on blogs...

I've just had an interested experience. I've had four new people sign up with HubPages because they are Erhard devotees, and they were irate at what I wrote. Three of them had clearly signed up in ire and were abusive, so they're no problem. I denied their mean comments and flagged their...

What happened to the reply button on the comment section?I have realized the reply button is becoming available only after you scroll all the way down to the comment box, type your reply and hit the post comment button. Anyone with an explanation to this?
