Why do my hubs take a long time to load?

Of late my hubs take a good minute or so to load..is it cause I've increased the crawl rate?

My hub took 5-10 minutes to load. Some even had to wait 24 hours to load. Consider yourself lucky that you don't have to wait 24 hours. Many people are submitting good and moderate hubs. Just give some time for the loading. The best part is see the hubscore going up.

Sorry Purplepeach, but I think you miss understood, I meant load as in open in the browser for viewing and not time taken for publishing.
      Still thanks though smile

I think it depends on how many people are using the server at the same time. I run into this once in awhile, but usually my hubs load rather quickly in a matter of seconds. It could depend on the browser and the internet provider you use. I use Google Chrome and have a DSL connection with Verizon.

I use Firefox and my DSL Broadband speed is at an approximate of 200 kbps give or take depending on the time of the day.
And at first I thought it was cause of traffic, but it happens to nearly all my hubs, GA shows my avg page load as 30secs.

Having a lot of photos is one reason for the slow to load on. Similarly videos too are causing delay.  Avoid placing photo on the top  and keep it side or below your text is good option to solve it.

      Thanks Sunil,
That's probably the problem cause I do tend to put up a lot of images at times and always put one right at the top.
But the thing is that, a requirement for getting your hub selected as a HOTD is to have an image right at the top.
