    What is going on?

Today I note the share button has gone. Add that to the fact that HP Apprenticeship program is closed to new applicants and I wonder what will be next. I know change is supposed to be a good thing, but there has to be stability as well.

    Hi Posh

Saw the thing about the share button but didn't know about the AP and I know it was one of your goals. Hopefully it will reopen.

Haven't got any answers for you today. Just dropped in to share the love, LOL.

A heads up and stability on many issues would be a great thing.

    MJ.

Am gutted. Was told by Simone to reapply in June. Oh well such is life. Nice to hear from you.

The share button is really gone. There are forum posts about that. Here's the link for the posts: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/113164 and http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/113165 . The reason for the share button being gone is apparently because it didn't match with the other buttons and it was a distraction from the other options. Look at the forum topics for more information.

As for the apprenticeship program, according to the learning center guide about it, it is temporarily closed. Here's the link for that: http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/Appr … ip-Program . You can check it out for more information. Hope this helped.

In the forum about this issue, Simone just wrote that she was the primary one insisting on its removal. Her reasoning was that she didn't like the way it looked! It wasn't "matchy-matchy" enough to other options. It doesn't make sense to me to remove a valuable POSITIVE hub option and not replace it with something comparable.  The "Share with Followers" option allowed me to receive some valuable hubs on my feed that I might otherwise have missed. Likewise, it allowed to me share with my followers those hubs I considered valuable or even exceptional. I'm very disappointed it's gone and suspect that a lot of other Hubbers are, too.

As for the HP Apprenticeship Program, I didn't know it was closed to new applicants. A couple of weeks ago I received an invitation to join, which I replied to in the affirmative, but never got a response from HP administration. Maybe that's the reason it was suddenly closed to new applicants! Ha-ha.

This evening I must give credit to the HP team for listening to our agonizing about loss of the option to share hubs with our HP followers.  It's back!  Though further down the right side of the screen, it's BACK!  THANKS, HP Administration Team!

I like it better at the bottom close to the comment box.  Less likely to forget to click on share or whatever.  Glad it's back!

The 3 options under hubs in the feed have always been there.

Some people do not allow comments to go 'live' until they have approved them, and if that is the case that hub will not show up in the feed until the comments have been approved, possibly hours or days after the comments were made.  It is not possible to share any hub if it isn't already in the feed.

Taking away the share option on the actual hub at the top right was not, IMHO, the most thought through action.  As a result it will not be possible to share any hub that is not already in the feed.

Thanks, Au fait. (I'm not the most observant puppy in the litter, obviously! Ha-ha.) Even though a hub can be shared from the feed, it's onerous (to me, anyway) that Hubbers can't share a hub they find later.

Agree with you Jaye.  I often peruse all of an author's hubs on their profile page and choose one that looks interesting to me, but I won't be able to share it as things currently stand, and I often like to do that.

The 'share' button is returning.  I read that it may take a couple of days, but it will be back!

Where did you read it? Perhaps someone on the HP team is paying attention to us--at last!

Can you tell me where you read that, vocalcoach?

I think it would be a wonderful "going away" present from Simone if she would put our share button back!!!  Now if you want to share, you have to run over the the Feed and catch your comment there, then hit the share button.  Takes too much time.   I saw a lot of advantages to the share button.

And if you commented on a hub belonging to a person who doesn't let their comments go 'live' right away, you'll have to wait 'til they approve them before you can share it.

Good to know, Au fait. I need to know that because that's how I have mine set up. I'm going to change it right now.

Just goes to show I don't know everything as I didn't even know about the Share button for followers. I've only been on HP for 5 months, but I'll be happy when it comes back so that I may utilize it (now that I know about it).

As far as the Apprenticeship program, another hubber friend told me today that it did come back. However, so many are looking to get in, and I believe only a select few (15) are chosen at a time. I'm not sure how often they open it up. I got into the Apprenticeship program in January without a problem. But, I have learned that other hubbers are having a difficult time. However, I know that there are qualifications that must be met in order to get in as well.

II use the share button most days and I didn't even notice it was gone! In fact I'm sure I used it yesterday. Is it only on new hubs or did it disappeared from all? Only asking to reassure myself I'm not going bonkers!  I note some have said it is back now anyway.

Since it took me a while to get here, I can say the share button is back.  Sometimes public outcry wins!  The honchos at HP are not deaf to the masses.  As for the AP program it is not gone for good.  It is being revamped, corrected, updated, whatever, and will be back!
    Stability reins poshcoffee!
