I would like to see an indication on the Home Page (I use the standard) if someone leaves fan mail (or joins as a follower), a notification similar to comments left would be nice.
You typically do not see this, or at least I don’t, until you open the fan mail box in “my account” or happen to see it listed in hubtivity on your profile page, neither of which I do as often as maybe I should.
It would also be nice once you have received fan mail to have a button to respond to that person in addition to accept or deny.
Any thoughts?
i have wanted to reply to fan mail a couple of times but wasn't able to, and there's really nowhere to answer them, so yes, i think that's a great suggestion.
I too have found a particular "fan" I'd like to respond to but would like to do it directly rather than go thru all the steps to send an email.
I like that idea ready. would be nice instead of having to check your profile page to see if and who did join yuor fan club.
Thats what I was thinking, and I usually forget to check it
oh so we are supposed to check? hehehe I don't check it just see my number go up and be like what? lol
Thats how I have caught it most of the time, but really unconsciously just happened to notice
lol it's all that scotch you keep drinking...
I am only able to do that since you stopped conniving the rabbits into swiping it all
I wouldn't have used cute rabbits in the first place. I would have used a big grizzly bear or a huge lion
But we did have the pics to prove it, just dont remeber which forum they were on
I have my settings set up so that I receive an email when I have either a comment or fan mail. I do however like the idea of being able to respond to fan mail.
I have mine set for comments but not fan mail, but since I have the indicator for comments and my email box is so cluttered I was going to alter it.
Thank you, I come by the screen name honestly. I really am ready to escape..........just can't figure out from what sometimes.
I think most of use the email notification, so the issues is moot for us.
I could see how "reply" could be useful. Rather than heading over to the Hubbers profile.
I dont respond directly to fan mail myself, but I do tend to go read a few hubs they wrote and when I find one relevant I tweet it out, or share it on facebook as an effort to thank the person who took the time to write fan mail. I think this is a more valuable "reply"
I get too much email as it is, therefore I have not elected that option. However even with that usage once you see check your email server don’t you still have to go log into Hub Pages and go thru multiple steps (pages to pass thru) just to acknowledge (accept or deny) a new follower or accept the fan mail?
It seems to me the email function is potentially redundant for some. Although I do see the application of email being useful to those that do not log in to Hub Pages each day/week.
Thanks for voicing your opinion.
I join in the Legion of those that like the automated Fan reply Email. That would be a great Feature, Good Going Readytoescape!
I have prob got at most one fan per day, and prob only get "fan mail" a couple of times a week, so its not a big concern with email.
I use very strict categories and labels within gmail, there is no such thing as "to much mail" when it gets filed appropriately. With all my various affiliate updates, i get near 400 new mails a day - they just get filed and I look stuff over when necessary

I see how this would be a useful function for many. Im always logged in to hubpages, if i get a hubmail, i click moderate fan mail and it brings me directly to the screen that says affirm or deny
Man you are too much of a net super hero for me. While I can write, I can barely login. I do not mean that in a derogatory fashion, I wish I had the skills. But I'm learnin.
Keep posting this kind of stuff in a couple years I might get it.
I like the idea. To date, I have a few thouand email notifications that I have yet to go through. I'd like to turn it off but when I went to look, I couldn't find the feature that allows you to do that. I'll have to poke around some more. All the notifications I have definitely need editing, at the very least. Every now and then I think to myself, it's a good time to start weeding it out, but that's as far as it gets lol, just a thought. Because, once I start, it tires me out quickly and so there it sits, with new notifications arriving daily.
I remember I got an email that said we could opt to have all of the email in one chunk instead of getting individual notification.
However, I just went to my profile and checked. There are only three options: never, immediately, and daily digest. How do I choose the option they said?
I use the new version for my homepage, so when I open up hubpages my home pages show that I have new xx comments or 0 comments to read.
My pages show comments as well, it's the new fan mail and new followers that the home page does not reflect or inform you of that I think would be convenient.
I have linked my account here to a secondary email account. I need to keep my primary email clear to see communications from clients, banks, etc. I rarely check the secondary account. I would appreciate having a direct response to new fans from within Hubpages. At the moment, I am fanning everyone back in order to reply.
I do that too, most of the time, sometimes though you seem to recieve some from what appear to be spammers or serial fans, so I am at least, a bit cautious about that.

I'm reading an awful lot about Hubpages at the moment and while a lot of it is going in, not everything is and I'm certainly not very good at being able to reference back to where I read it. Frankly it's all very new!One thing which concerns me is fan mail. I've got a vague recollection of reading...
