Anyone else experience the "Comment Nazi"?

I recently posted my first political hub and was warned to expect sharp reactions but was unaware of the ferocity of the unhappy "Comment Nazi". She (SS) continuously sent negative comments and forced me to close my comment capsule.
Now, no one can comment on my article. Not even the many positive truth-seeking comments. It's a shame.
Anyone else experience this type of activity from her?

Or you could set up your account where you moderate comments and don't allow those that are abusive.  I have a hard time believing someone else can force you to close comments.  Political discussions are often very passionate, but you can moderate abuse without doing away with an entire discussion smile.

      Hey Christin
I'm going to go back to edit on the hub and see if I missed that option.
      Thanx!

You'd think after 22 (or so) unapproved comments that she would get the hint. I'd do as ChristinS suggested with the moderated comments. It only takes a second to delete them.

It won't take very long around here to figure out who the intransigent ideologues are. Heck, I would imagine some people even say that about me. Complete nonsense, of course...

I have managed to avoid bickering on my hubs. Probably because no one reads them. One thing you might try in the future is to not erase someone else's comments while letting yours stand. I think not being able to defend oneself can make people even more agitated than they were before. But that is entirely up to you.

Be careful carrying the "ring of truth". You might find yourself surrounded by a surprising number of people carrying finger shears.

Thanks junk, for your funny, intelligent and informative comment.
The thing that gets me is this is exactly what the piece is about. Biased politically confused individuals that don't give a damn about the truth and want to censor the author...

I read your Hub and I have an observation that might bear a thought. When you delete comments and make statements like "This person is still commenting and ranting and raving," then you are just fanning the flames. You are giving her the attention she is seeking.

I have had this happen with someone once who disagreed with me on a Hub (it wasn't political, it was about another writing site) and would just not stop. I told her that I would no longer approve her comments and I've deleted every one of them since.

Take the high road is all I'm saying. Just delete them and keep on keeping on.

      Thanks Georgie
You state exactly what I now know: I am flaming the ranter's emotions.
I'm taking your advice and the high road and "keepin' on".
