When you publish a hub it sends a message to your subscribers (followers) if they have chosen to be notified.

Someone must have got a notification email via their gmail account, and clicked on the link.

Sorry for going a slightly different direction... still stats related though...

My stats show a few page views images.google.com

Am I understanding this correctly --  Is it the actual name of the image that Google is using?

I almost never use captions with my graphics. Should I be naming my files with key words before I upload them?

I'm just not sure if the pics are showing in Google images because they are from a page that uses the keywords, or if it is the name of the file itself.

I have received a few hits from google mail.

Images.google.com is from the google images search engine, that means that some of the photos you have tagged are appearing in Google Images Search.

when you say tag the image-- are you tagging the file name as a keyword?
    I almost understand.... smile

Tags can mean several things, in this case however I am refering to the attributes of a picture.  Hubpages makes it easy, if you create a picture you can give it a description.  This, and the text around it, with a few other factors are those which affect your search rankings on Google Image Search.
