Hi I have been on hub pages and receive comments and clicks. How come my earnings are so low?

What is the percentage of earnings hubpages takes out? Also I have not earned anything on amazon nor ebay. It is hard to find a product that is relevant to your writing. Do you have to list items on either of these sites that are relevant to your hub, or can you list anything. I guess with these two sites you only earn when someone buys the merchandise is this a correct assumption. I love to write and do it for the writing, but it would help if I could actually earn something for my writing. Your answers are highly appreciated. Thank You.

Amazon and eBay pay based on sales, not clicks/views. Some folks do very well with Amazon here but I've never had much luck with it either.

I have been writing on Hubpages for a little over four years now.  I have almost 10000 views on ten featured hubs.  I have never made any real money, but luckily I just love to write, like you.  I make wooden home decor items and sell them online, so I have started adding links to my own products in my articles.  This gets me a lot of views on my products, so I am happy with this method.  You can also add ebay links to your products if you happen to be selling on ebay.  I don't think this helped much, but I just thought I would share my experience.  Good luck and keep on writing!

Welcome to hubpages. Please don't expect much in the form of earnings here or you will be disappointed unless you know all the tricks in getting traffic to your hubs, the pennies do not add up very fast.  This is a great place to practice your writing and most members are very friendly as well as willing to give you feedback or advice. If you post many quality hubs everyday it could be helpful in increasing your profit. Ebay capsules should be compatible with your hub. Good luck.
