Do you set yourself goals for writing on hubpages?

What kind of goals do you set? Are you working on any goals right now? How do you stay on track with your goals? How do you motivate yourself to work on your goal(s)?

Right now, I am working to write and publish at least one hub every day, if not every-other day.

This would entirely depend on what is your long term goal. If you want to see yourself as a writer, author or hubber and how seriously are you taking HubPages or your writing.
If you want to be writer then the best is always to write what interests you the most or something that suddenly prompted you to write. It may happen that you may end up publishing more than one article a day.
But then if you are setting a goal and following it up you may bring in a lot of quality but it will not assure you free flow writing. You will reach a target of 100 or maybe 1000 hubs but the question will be is this how you perceive yourself to be.
So decide your long term goal the rest will fall in place automatically.
I want to write for the love of writing and if possible make money out of it, so i choose to write what interests to me most. I have set a target but then allow it to let go if I do not have substantial stuff to publish.
I hope that answers your question. smile

Greetings Melinda, I had the very same goal of publishing once a day. However with school, and a myriad of other distractions, it all fell apart pretty quickly.  Motivation comes from many aspects of my daily life, including watching television, of all things.  I have about 32 hubs up in 5 weeks, so I don't think I'm slacking too bad.  I hope you're not derailed from the once-a-day goal, that's a sweet pace.  smile

32 Hubs in 5 weeks! That's impressive!! :-) I've been on hubpages for 11 months and now just have 55 hubs. You're doing fantastic!

Definitely! If I don't my Hub account grows mold! Mostly because my life is so full of other hobbies, especially when it come to writing on the net. If you are starting out I recommend setting easy goals at first. Over time it will take less time to write posts. I try to do one hub a month and two answers a week. Also the awards system on here is pretty cool. My long term goals are to achieve specific awards from the site. But you are doing great on here! Keep up and if you like travelling follow me smile

    J

You've gained a new follower Jay Barban. I love traveling. Wish that I had the money to go somewhere adventurous. ;-) What's next on your adventure agenda?

I admire people who can set short term goals and stick rigidly to them and I know there are plenty of writers here on HP who do just that. You sound as if you're one of them! A hub a day is a hefty target, I wish you well. Is this part of a challenge or is it all your own idea?
I however am at the other end of the spectrum. I rarely if ever set myself a short term target because I know that deep inside I'm just not that sort of writer. I wouldn't enjoy the prospect of a deadline on a site like HP although I can appreciate why other writers do.
My strength lies in the knowledge that, once I start a hub I work like crazy to get it finished. I spend a lot of time researching - some of my articles are over 3000 words. Perhaps too much for online writing, I don't know?
But I do have a medium term goal and that is to spend 5 years on HP if I can, contributing as fully as possible. When the 5 years are up I'll have a big review!!

Do you plan on quitting after the five years is up? Or will you set a new goal after that? :-)
