This is my first unfeatured hub. What are the steps to follow to correct errors & make it featured?
One of my hubs was unfeatured for the first time today. How can I tell what is wrong with the hub to correct it? Do you just adjust text and resave to have it reconsidered to be featured? What are the best steps to take in this case?
It's always disheartening to find one of your hubs not featured. Sometimes, all it takes to fix things is a quick spell check for typos within the text. Other times, it takes cutting and pasting the text into a word processing software like Word to make sure the sentences are grammatical.
In other cases, there are products in Amazon capsules that may have nothing to do with the subject of the hub, or perhaps too many for the number of words written.
Other things that trigger this include forbidden topics, photos that have watermarks or that are not free to use (copyrighted by someone else). There are more suggestions in the Learning Center if any of this does not help.
Good luck getting your hub back into circulation.
All the best,
Peg
Thank you Peg. I've tried all the suggestions that you've mentioned. I'm not sure how long it takes to get a review of the hub (24 hours?). I'm not sure what else that I can do to fix it. Anymore suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you PegCole17. I am working on some of these edits that you suggested right now. I rewrote every section to see if that would help. I deleted a section that I thought may not be relevant. I changed a video. & I think part of the problem is that the name of the store which I am writing about, Lookbook Store, comes up as a misspelling but I can't really do anything about that. Waiting to see if the changes I made will work.
Hi Melinda, I think you're on to something about the word Lookbook, although, it isn't the spelling. I see it used at least eight times in the top half of the page. Sometimes this triggers a fault for keyword stuffing. Just a thought. Cheers.
Thank u so much peg. I will make those changes.
Hubs get unfeatured for two reasons, the first reason is failing to meet QAP which is easy to correct. The second reason, lack of engagement or traffic that makes a hub difficult to stay featured for a long time. Without reinventing the wheel, I would direct you to http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/Featured-Hubs
Marisa, a fellow hubber wrote a useful hub, which may answer your question. http://marisawright.hubpages.com/hub/Wh … tured-Hubs
Thank you so much. I will read those pages. I made changes earlier and it's currently undergoing QAP but the info will be good to know for the future.
Melinda, go into the hub and click edit. Look to the right top corner for the check list. Also, read the suggestions offered. Add material and capsules until all the boxes are checked.
Why it was unfeatured makes a difference. If you see a half filled-in circle in your account page, try sending the article out again to get more comments. Half circles mean lack of engagement. I just did this for a couple of mine and they became featured again.
If the article has a full empty circle it's been deemed as poor quality. That's where the tips in my first paragraph come in.
Thank you. :-) Yes, it was a full circle so it was definitely of poor quality. I worked on some of the issues & am waiting for a review of it. I will check the top right of the hub too, as you suggested, & see if anything pops up there. :-)
Awesome. I only have one full circle left and there's nothing I can really do about it. It's very short and I introduce the hub by saying all I wanted to do was share a very heart-moving video that spoke for itself. So, I guess it'll stay as is.
This issue was resolved. My hub was featured after making the changes that you all suggested. Thanking everyone for your help.

One of my Hubs was un-featured after four years of being featured. Reason: poor content?!OK, but when I tried to edit it, it says: Sorry, you can not edit your hub while an editor is working on it.This happened a few days ago and I still can't edit it!The saddest part is that this is my most...

I was just wanting a few other opinions about this type of unfeatured hub. Lately I have had like three go on the unfeatured list due to lack of traffic. They are some of my first posts here, and I am posting them back on social media sites, but I'm not so sure it's important to me at this point to...

I am just curious, all 92 hubs of mine are featured. In your opinion, should one delete (although Featured) any hubs where the score on a particular hub has eventually dropped way down from when it was initially high at one point? Or would it be better to just unpublish and later...

The hub has over 550 words and two pictures. It is a recipe for posole soup--Mexican hominy soup. I am wondering if it is unfeatured because the word "posole" is used many times and, since the word may be unfamiliar, it is being treated as if it were a case of repeated spelling errors.

I've been writing here for quite a few years, I go back to the ancient era before the 'featured' 'not featured' declension.I have found that 'fixing' a Hub which is not featured is a total waste of time, as in a day or so, after a fix, it is back to unfeatured. I did an experiment and I can...

For some unspecified reason, HubPages has chosen not to feature what I believe to be one of the bestHubs I have written. After learning that HubPages was not going to feature it without editing, I added a poll to see if that would do the trick. No success. It really would be nice if the...
