Try putting sheets of aluminum foil on it until they get the idea.

Not calling you a liar or anything like that, but why does my account say that some unpublished hubs have been viewed multiple times?

Every time you view your hub say to edit it that counts as a view. I think internet spiders might also be able to find them but I am less sure about that smile

Okay, how do you change the photos you are uploading when the ones you have chosen are too slow?I have modified my photos by cropping them a bit but they still take long.I did try Revver but that doesn't work for me.Even AVG and SpyDoctor gave up on my computer.AVG wanted me to check my connection[It was working] and Picasa failed to log me in.Any help?

Maybe your computer is slow because maybe it old.. (no offense)

You need to reduce the size of the photograph, not crop it. Right click on the photo and choose 'properties'.
If it's 100 kb or smaller it will load a lot quicker than a massive 2Mb or whatever size you have.
Ummm...trying to remember how to reduce images in Windows Photo Gallery.
OK got it. Using the basic windows software, open pic, then go to Open on the top of the screen of Win Photo Gallery. Choose Microsoft Office picture manager if you have it. The from there it's picture ~> compress picture ~> web page.

Sounds like you have PC problems, however the photo problem may be unrelated.  Occasionally the photo capsule has a conniption and freezes in "loading" mode. If the photo is going to load, it will load fairly quickly, regardless of size - so you know if the "loading" logo keeps revolving for more than a few seconds, you've got a problem.

If that happens, the only thing you can do is close the capsule, delete it, and start again with a new capsule. Once or twice, I've had to save the Hub and re-open it before I could get the photo capsule to work.

I always add only one photo per capsule, that way if it freezes you've only lost one photo. Plus it makes it easier to move them around if you need to edit later.

How about this: on my account page, I have a box that says I have -32 slide show views. Total  # for the hub are like 375, so what's up with the minus views? How is this possible? What could it mean?

How old should a computer be to qualify as old? Is 2008 old? Not everyone can afford a new desktop annually. My laptop is new; but it has a limited memory! Seriously now, if I load Window 7 into my computer and replaced Window XP , will that help? The CD that came with the laptop was used once; but it can be used two more time.

my net zero account gave me a free website for being a good customer (HA they just want money haha) but I was wondering how to connect with a link or two that website to my stuff here.  Also, when I do put links, where to I link it to, my profile page?  that seems like the probable answer...and what are backlinks.?

    1. Marisa Wright profile image86
Marisa Wrightposted 14 years agoin reply to this

dd, you have a lot to learn!

A backlink is just a hyperlink from from one website "back" to a site or Hub you want to promote. So if you put links on your free website to one of your Hubs, that would be a backlink for your Hub.  You can backlink to your profile or to any of your Hubs.

My computer has an AMD Sempron sticker.I have 40GB memory and a 500GB external drive.
Thanks for the info on reducing the size of the photo. I will try it.

40Gb memory?? I think you mean the size of your hard disk drive when you mention an external drive too.
I have 3Gb DDR memory; I'll look up win 7 to see what minimum requirement is. I run Vista but it's incredibly slow even with all the memory I have but that's the nature of the beast, think that's why they brought out Win 7. From all accunts it's faster.

f you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:

        1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor

1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
