Is there a maximum word count limit on hubs?
I read somewhere that it is recommended that a hub should have a minimum of 300 words to pass the quality assessment process. I was wondering if there is a maximum word count per hub. What is your highest word count?
Jack, I don't remember if there is a limit. I'll check.
I would say a good hub (outside recipes, poems and political stuff), would be between 3-5K words. Mine are somewhere in between that mark. Anything less, and I have found them lacking, although I'm giving it a shot right how.
If over 5,000, with a few exceptions, the size of the article would not fit the medium. The better hubbers can get their point across within 5,000 words.
Thanks for the advice. What I've been doing is to break up my writing into multiple hubs of approx. 2-4K words and linking them. I have one topic that is 34,000 words in total (obviously too large for one hub). Just curious what is the maximum for HP

I was thinking of splitting an article into 2 or even 3 different hubs because it was too long. How many words should our articles have before we can publish them on HubPages? I checked the HubPages FAQ page but the only word count listed there refers to the total number of words that an article...

On another thread, a Hubber suggested that if HubPages had a minimum word count, it would prevent some spammers.I know that a very low word count can get a Hub flagged as substandard, but perhaps it's set too low at the moment?

I just wanted to know how small and how big an article can be without being rejected.

I know that there is a discussion somewhere in here, but I couldn't find it. Sorry!I appreciate the new tools to help produce a featured hub, but the word count gets me down. Usually I have no problem getting to 1250+ words, but sometimes my Hubs just don't need that many words. It has check boxes...
