Is there a maximum word count limit on hubs?
I read somewhere that it is recommended that a hub should have a minimum of 300 words to pass the quality assessment process. I was wondering if there is a maximum word count per hub. What is your highest word count?
Jack, I don't remember if there is a limit. I'll check.
I would say a good hub (outside recipes, poems and political stuff), would be between 3-5K words. Mine are somewhere in between that mark. Anything less, and I have found them lacking, although I'm giving it a shot right how.
If over 5,000, with a few exceptions, the size of the article would not fit the medium. The better hubbers can get their point across within 5,000 words.
Thanks for the advice. What I've been doing is to break up my writing into multiple hubs of approx. 2-4K words and linking them. I have one topic that is 34,000 words in total (obviously too large for one hub). Just curious what is the maximum for HP

On another thread, a Hubber suggested that if HubPages had a minimum word count, it would prevent some spammers.I know that a very low word count can get a Hub flagged as substandard, but perhaps it's set too low at the moment?

What happened to my little blue tip box I have become so attached to? I let me know how many words I had, if an image was not clear enough, and let me know when my hub was presentable and ready to publish.

I am writing a piece now, that is currently 3000 words, and still rising; as things stand it appears that it will be around 4000 words. In the past I have written two part articles on HP and they tend not to fly, so I don't want to divide it in two. It would be okay to split it in two and move it...
