Am I allowed to make an Amazon Christmas gift guide?
I just recently got approved for all the ad programs. I love writing Christmas gift guides but someone told me hub pages is strict about when you can use Amazon capsules. Of course I would like to also make money so it seems like common sense to add the Amazon capsules but I don't want to get any trouble. Does anyone have any experience with this?
It's fine as long as you follow the rules. I have a hub with five Amazon capsules. It was moved to a niche site without any problems.
You need to have experience with anything you list in an Amazon ad (Either capsule or text link).
If you use a capsule, place your own description in the capsule explaining your use of the product and why you recommend it.
You also need to make sure the products you list relate to the title of your hub.
You need at least 300 words of content in the hub for each Amazon ad or link.
Welcome to HubPages.

Janderson just submitted some great suggestions on this thread:http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/126313#post2666393and I think this one deserves a suggestion post on its own. We're always being told to be discriminating with our Amazon capsules - less is more, they must be directly related, etc...

I am confused by Amazon capsule use. The first time I used it, it was deleted and I found out it was because I didn't actually use the item myself. Is there a balance of Amazon products on a page that makes a hub overly promotional? Or is it dependent on the individual hub (over and beyond the 50 words per product)?

We just released a small update to the site. Among a slew of bug fixes and small updates, there are two notable changes. The first is that you can follow the comments on a hub, and receive email notifications when new comments are made. Just click the follow button near the top of the...

When I write a personal recommendation in the 'description section; on my Amazon capsule, it doesn't seem to be appearing as it has in the past. Will this appear, after publication?

The nice thing about the new Amazon capsule is that it displays the description text in the same size as the rest of the hub. This can be beneficial and may turn into better sales. So I reorganized one of my hubs, moving much of my text from text capsules into the Amazon description fields. This...
