One of the things I appreciate about HubPages is that I'm not overwhelmed with video ads. They slow down my computer and make it really hard to type a comment of click through a story but I just noticed this Robitussin ad playing in my sidebar as I attempted to respond to readers in my comments on WeHaveKids. Yikes! I know these are another form of ad revenue and it benefits us but in the long run it might hurt us. I purposely avoid sites that had video ads playing because they not only slow down my device but they're just plain annoying.
Also, excuse the typos, apparently this ad really got me going...
We allow video ads, but the sound has to be user initiated. Occasionally, one gets through that starts with sound. Did that happen here?
Thanks for responding, Paul! No, the sound didn't start automatically. I actually wouldn't have noticed the ad except that it wasn't allowing me to type until I paused it. That's probably an issue with my flash player but I guess a good thing to be aware of too when it comes to readability and ease of commenting for readers.

For a couple of days now whenever I am on any hub, all of a sudden a video ad starts playing. What is even more strange is when I have the volume low or silent, the ad comes on loud. I am not clicking on anything. Anyone else having this problem? Image from Pixabay

After reading about the Ads appearing on the right sidebar of our hubs, I checked it out and found the long Ad on my pages. When I signed out, I really saw a bunch of Ads all over the top section of the hubs. WOW! Is there a hub here or an Advertisement page?...was my first thought.The...

I have a hub on furniture and on the sidebar listed under Latest in Home there is a discussion listed about immigrants? What does that have to do with furniture? I thought things on the sidebar had to relate to the Hub.

Today, we launched a new desktop ad layout. It features a lazy load (ads don't load until they approach the view of the reader), no ads above the fold, but the 300X250 refreshes after 30 seconds and anchors in the sidebar. We'll see how this impacts user experience and revenues over the...

There has been an increase in my traffic but click rates are falling dramatically. I've been seeing some google ads on sidebar but they seem to disappear. I guess sidebar ads were doing good although we can't track the ad positions at hubpages. Does anyone has same concerns??

This probably isn't a bug, but it's annoying and I wish Hubpages wouldn't do it. There is an ad which plays sound appearing on some of my hubs. I think it's a cricket ad with the sound of a bat hitting a ball, and a crowd cheering. The ad is also one which appears right at the bottom of the page,...
