I have three articles about gallbladder disease:

    Gallbladder Problems: Gallstones
Treatment For Gallstones: Surgery and Alternatives
Gallbladder Disease: Symptoms and Causes of Gallstones

And I'm considering combining them into one article to make it a more comprehensive piece on the subject. But I'm not sure if I should.

So I thought I'd ask you all your thoughts. smile

    Thank you!
    Mel

I would recommend adding just one of the articles to whichever one you decide to make the main article, then wait a few days (maybe a week) and add the other article. That way you will be "updating" the article, resulting in Google crawling it again.

I have done this in the past. Just remember to give your deleted article(s) enough time to be removed from Google's index before adding them to your main article so they won't be seen by HP's bots as duplicate content. I usually waited for a couple of days after the article was gone from my Statistics page. That may be way more than enough time to wait, but it has worked for me.

      Good Luck!

So you want to replace three articles with one potentially getting only a third of the traffic?

Are you already getting good traffic on each of these? We do not have the option to set up 301 redirects, so if you are already ranking well I would not be too sure if a merger is the best option. But combining them if they are not already getting a lot of traffic is definitely a wise option.

Not the best traffic, no. That's why I was thinking combine them. I figured the one with the most traffic would be the one I would add to.

        Hi Melissa,
Not sure how Google is treating healdlove articles these days but I do think you will see a boost from Google if you add all of the relevant material to one article. I have deleted a lot of my articles, rewritten them with more information, and then republished so they are seen better by the search engines.
Before you decide to add to one and delete the others, however, be sure to check which one has a lot of backlinks. It may or may not be the one that is getting the best traffic.
I hope you and your canine and feline family are all doing well!
