Are the HP staff going through old articles?

I got a pleasant surprise this morning. An email from HubPages saying an article had been moved to a niche site. This usually happens with recently written articles but it turned out to be one from early 2014. I hadn’t submitted it myself.

I’d thought that the articles that were published before the niche sites were introduced were left off the queue for being considered for niche sites. Since I had around 80 published before, I hadn’t bothered submitting them and concentrated on new articles instead.

Is the HP staff now going through older articles and considering them to be moved? If so, this is excellent news! It saves us having to submit them individually, because of course we can only do that every two weeks.

They seem to be looking for hubs on particular topics that also have good traffic.  Like you, I recently had an old hub moved to a niche site.  It was a seasonal hub.

It's less frequent now, but it happens. I doubt they are actively looking through older articles, but I'm pretty sure they look at stats, and the stats could lead them to think, 'okay, this one could really fit over at suchandsuch.com.'

They were always looking into older articles, I wasn't sure if it was still being done. From your post that's cleared up. They look at traffic when deciding which hubs to edit and move. They go down the list from highest trafficked hubs I would assume.

This hub of yours probably had the highest search engine traffic from all your HP hubs and/or it's the best written and formatted compared to those hubs that received higher traffic? If this makes sense.

Yeah, I get it! It wasn't a particularly popular article but it's nice to know they thought it was good enough to move.
