Who do I contact to get a 1099 for my 2018 taxes?

Here are the paypal rules for reporting income to the IRS via their 1099 forms

A seller has to exceed both IRS thresholds ($20,000 in gross payment volume and 200 separate payments) in a calendar year before a Form 1099-K is required.

They don't do 1099s anymore. Just report the income you received on your taxes. If you got more than, I think $10,000, from PayPal, they will 1099 you. Otherwise, it's up to you to keep track and report your income.

I'm not sure whether it's $10,000 or $20,000 from  Paypal.

Does anyone know for sure what the cut-off is for needing a form? I thought there was a 1099 misc form for any amount earned? Is it hubpages who issues you the form, or paypal?

Thanks for that.  I always forget from year to year what the cut offs are.

I've made over $20,000 this year and just went to PayPal to see if I could get my tax forms.  Apparently, they will be available after Jan. 31.  In the past, I've reported as self-employed.  Here is the note from PayPal:
PayPal will track the payment volume of your account(s) to check whether your payment volume exceeds both of these levels in a calendar year:

$20,000 USD in gross payment volume from sales of goods or services in a single calendar year
200 payments for goods or services in the same year*
You may be asked to provide your tax identification number (TIN), such as a Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN), to your existing account(s), if you don’t already have one on file. If your TIN fails verification, you will need to fill out an equivalent tax Form W-9.

If you cross the IRS thresholds in a given calendar year, PayPal will send Form 1099-K to you and the IRS for that year early in the following year.

For those who haven't already discovered it, wait until you get a load of the new 1040 forms. At least schedules C and SE weren't messed with. I've been pecking away at it and I guess I'm about halfway done. Good thing I started early.
