I've spent three days to update and improve this article but I just got a message from HP that it has been rejected for Dengarden. I do have an article on Dengarden on how to prepare your roses for winter, so I thought one about pruning roses would be interesting too, but aparently not. So maybe some of you can give me some ideas of why this one was rejected for Dengarden.

    How to Trim Roses

Your English is very good but not perfect. I reckon you need a native speaker editor.

Also, it would be helpful to break up the text into smaller paragraphs or even bulleted lists.

Having said that, the main problem is likely to be the plethora of Amazon ads.

Amazon ads are generally restricted to pages about products. One might be OK on a page like that, several certainly won't fly.

It might probably be the Amazon ads. Readers might feel your main goal is trying to sell them something instead of teaching them how to trim.

It's not that this hub didn't pass QAP, it's been featured for a long time and it still is. My English has never been a problem before as it comes to hubs being featured or being moved to the niche sites. The editors just correct my grammar faults. I thought it was ok to have three Amazo ads with a word count of 1580. The links at the bottom are links to videos and I better get rid of them.

Oh well, never mind. It's no big deal, but I just wondered. Maybe I didn't show my expertise on growing and pruning roses and my own experience enough. Thanks anyway for your time to comment.

Yes. Niche site editors will edit a hub to fit their niche or offer edit suggestions so you can resubmit the article. Did you see if there were other articles in DenGarden about pruning roses? Perhaps, the niche site has plenty.

I thought of that too and I searched on google for Dengarden trimming roses but only three articles about trimming or pruning roses popped up.

Did you go back and hit "submit this article to a niche site"?  If you do that it will usually provide the editors comments on what you need to change to resubmit it and a place you can write them a note on anything you didn't feel like you could address.  Then you can resubmit it and it won't count as your one submission for the two week period.

Yes, it was an old article and I updated it, but it was rejected for the niche site.

I think a lot of the problem might be the Amazon ads and the youtube links at the bottom.

But the language is also sometimes hard to read - maybe try using the Hemingwayapp. http://www.hemingwayapp.com/ - it highlights awkward sentences.

I would also probably cut the intro down a bit.

Never heard of the Hemmingwayapp, I'll look into it. Thanks.

Edit to add: I found it and I think it will be a great help for me to improve my grammar and write readable sentences. I know what I will be doing the next months LOL. Thanks again for giving me that link. I already started to improve the text on this hub. You're never too old to learn.
