I personally do not like the advertisements placed randomly within the texts of our articles. I find that it not only makes the articles look unprofessional, it makes it seem that we, as the writers, are endorsing the items in those advertisements. It also interrupts the free flow of said articles. The advertisements could be placed before and after the articles instead of within the framework of the text itself.

One article I wrote, for example, has an advertisement for dog toys in a rabbit article as well as a human bunion foot cure. This just seems wrong as they have nothing to do with rabbits, nor do I endorse the products they are selling.

The advertisements are set between the picture and the text, causing a break that makes the articles somewhat confusing to the reader.

I would like to see this feature changed.

It won't be changed. The whole point of our articles is that they are vehicles for advertising. That's how we, and HubPages, get paid. It's a commercial business not a public service.

You can turn adverts off on your hubs, but then you won't earn anything.

Also, the advertisements you see vary from person to person. It's usually based on their own search history.

Yes, I totally understand that part of it and enjoy the pay, but what I don't like mostly is when a photo capsule goes with the text capsule that follows and they put the ad between the two...it takes away the free flow of the article. The Ad could be put before the photo, or after the text the photo goes with. That would make it look 'cleaner' and better organized. It is more a matter of 'placement' that is off.

I very much agree. The norm seems to be to place an ad after a photo capsule, which often separates the photo from the text it's meant to illustrate. I wish we had a way to lock two capsules together so no ad can come between. In other words, the two capsules would be treated as one as far as ad placement is concerned.

Most sites do this these days, including mainstream media.
