Is there any way I can promote my new book on hubpages? For instance, can I post an chapter (etc) from it and link to my book? Can I write about it but not provide a link, but just mention its name and where it is?
It's not a diet book. It's actually scientificlally based and explains how the body loses weight. The problem is that it's so simple that if I wrote that in an article,no one would need to buy the book (although the book debunks many dietary myths), etc.
Please help. I really need a lot of sales for this book. I have one more to write, then 3 screenplays, and then I'm ready to write full time for hubpages.
Please, please, please come up with brilliant ideas.
How many pages is this book? Why do you think that an article can provide sufficient information that someone will not want to buy your book for more?
Because there is only one way the body loses weight. The strange thing is that nobody has actually put this into words and explained how to use it to your advantage. So if I explain that (which I can do in 300 words), people might decide not to buy the rest of the book.
It's 26,000 words or thereabouts. That works out to somewhere between 67 and 97 pages depending on whether you use 250 words or 350 words per page.
I've provided a lot of other information in the book, and the two reviews I've received so far have been good.
I'm going to use Medium and Blogger to attempt to write articles, but I'm not yet sure how to do it. On those platforms (Wix as well), I can link to my book.
Can one do it here? Or is that now totally verboten?
Writing on Blogger will not get you any readers. On Medium you may find readers. You can write about your book here, it's not verboten. But you need to write it as a review or write something and then link out to your book, but your article needs to be able to stand on its own.
You know what amazes me? That nobody knows how to publicize a book outside of social media which really doesn't work.
Okay, I'm going to get myself a whole lot of writers together on facebook and see who is willing to work together to figure it out. Ironcially, I probably have more data about it than most - but far from enough.

Yesterday I read a thread that pointed out an HP term pertaining to self promotion. At a quick read over it seemed to suggest that self promotion is banned here. Does this mean social media too or what does it exactly mean...? I read the page the link went to and didn't fully...

I've had several hundred views from Flipboard in the last couple of days for a page that I did not flip myself. Assuming no one here took pity on me and flipped it, that is my first legit traffic from that site.Anyone else getting a good result from the new button?

I went to reply to a post in this thread and saw that it had been closed to reply and I was curious as to why it has been closed. http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/90745
