Years ago, I took an "old" article and posted it on HP as three articles. Don't ask me why because I should not have done it. Now, I am going to merge them into one. The question is: Should I combine the two lowest viewed articles into the highest viewed article or does it matter? My answer is "yes" because I should keep the highest viewed article. I am asking because it might be easier to merge them without considering the highest view versus the lowest view.
Normally, yes. But I could see where there might be some booby traps afoot. I don't suppose all three articles have a string or keyword phrase in common?
Yes. There are common thread and keywords.
Use them. If they match your stats order, I do believe you have your answer. Use https://www.startpage.com/ so that your results are unbiased.
Thank you for the tip, but how does using Startpage.com make my results unbiased?
Startpage does not base their results on your search history, Google does.
I will take a look at Startpage and figure out what it does.
It feeds off Google search results, but doesn't tell google anything about the searcher; thus you get the default google results without the results being skewed by your previous searches.
Cool! I think it is better to use other SEO sites and see what comes up.
I strongly agree that you should save your latest hub's URL and add the others to the best one. It's like on Pinterest - I've heard tho I'm no expert - that you should never delete a pin, even if you want to, because others may have already linked to it. You never know who may already have a link to that hub published on their blog or something.
Best wishes!
Michele,
Thanks for the tips. I check out your profile. Nice. "Google+" no longer exists, though. You might want to delete it.
Thanks Kenna! I keep forgetting to do that! lol

I agree with using the most traffic-active article as your basis for revision.
I am curious how you are going to make the transitions work. Seems like an interesting challenge. Let me know if you'd like feed back on a first draft. Don't delete the two articles until the new one is completed. I'd love to see the "before and afters!"
I went with the most traffic-active article. I finished combining them. I have the old ones, but they will remain unpublished. I have to do that, so it doesn't seem like duplicate articles. If you want to check out my article, it is here: https://hubpages.com/entertainment/Film … eenwriting

I have two closely related articles (basic and advanced troubleshooting guides) with four of the same words in both titles on the first page of SERPs, yet on Owlcation an article won't rank at all for four consecutive words from the title because there's an older article on the site using those...

Something strange is going on. I have a hub that's been doing really well for years. It was hub-pro edited a couple of months ago and traffic increased by a couple hundred a day. Over the last week or so it's hovered around 750 per day. Overall it has almost half a million views.Today, views are...

Good morning Hubbers!I'm trying to learn on how to make my articles more search friendly, so have been ensuring the title and description match more what an internet user might enter in the Google Search Bar. For example, this article is entitled "Top 5 Haunted Campsites in Wales".This...

Ok, this makes no sense, I have a few articles on AC that are in the top 3 pages of google, 1 article is actually in the top spot for its keyword phrase. How can I get that one in top spot and not a single hubpage article even in top 3 pages.

I have a fairly old article which doesn't rank for the first four words from it's title in the first 130 SERP results ("What causes electric shocks"), however there are no other articles with those words at the beginning of the title. Ubersuggest says that there's low competition for the...
