I joined the Quora Partner Program (it pays you to post questions) four days ago. In that time I've posted 11 questions (they suggest a goal of 10/day) and earned a total of $0.92.

For one of my questions I used info from one of my hubs as the basis, and posted the link to it in the "link that gives context" box. I did get some views from Quora users through that link.

If you use Quora, is there some rule or etiquette about linking to your own content? Sharing a link in a question seems like a good opportunity to get more views, but obviously I don't want to violate any written or unwritten rules.

I think you will have your questions collapsed if you overdo it. I am a top writer about dogs so I often link back to Pethelpful, but I am also a top writer about animals (usually my horses, sheep, ducks, exotics, etc) and I have few articles on HP about these animals so almost never link. I think the balance is okay to that site.

Thanks, Dr. Mark. I think that's good advice.

I waste a bit of time going through Quora questions (most of them are utterly inane, as in What would happen if Michigan became a Canadian province?) and every once in a while I come across one that I can answer and add a link to one of my articles with related information. I get a few views this way.

You can waste a LOT of time going through Quora questions! But some of them are interesting, with well thought-out, even well-researched answers.

They filter this and select the answers you want, based on location and other things. I keep seeing "What will happen once Canada becomes part of Michigan?"
(Of course I also see "When will Brazil become part of the United States?)

How long did it take you to be invited to the partner program? I joined Quora earlier this week.

I've been a member, but not very active, for years. I received an invitation to the partner program a couple of months ago. I'm not sure what criteria are used for who gets an invitation.

I am a member of Quora. But, not in a partner program.

I get my daily e-mail notifications from them and keep visiting and commenting on their posts. I do not know about the possibility of earning from there. So, I may have to consider it now. Thanks for the information.

I received an email inviting me to join the partner program. I'm not sure whether you can just sign up on your own.

Although the program states that it takes people from Brazil and India, so far the only ones I have seen are from the US.
My opinion is that it is not worth my time to chase it. I do enjoy wasting time reading the answers though!

Yes, some of the answers provided there are very much informative and entertaining. That's why I enjoy visiting the site every 2 days.

            Thanks, Mark, for your reply.

I have been answering questions on Quora for about a year now. But I was surprised that when I was asked to be partner, it was to post questions. I thought I was helping others by answering questions in areas I knew about, although some of them are inane. If the people read the threads, they could see their questions have been answered many times over. I have linked back to few of my own articles, and haven't had trouble. But not a lot of traffic either.

Thanks for the response, Ron! It sounds like I shouldn't hold my breath waiting for an invite.
