After a hiatus, I am back writing. My traffic is up but my earnings are in the basement.
I'm seeing a drop on other sites as well. Webmaster forums also are talking about it.
The world economy is heading down, so that might be why.
CPM is down significantly from September. So even though your traffic may be the same as September, your earnings will be lower. You can see CPM in the Ad Program Reports on the Earnings tab. CPM represents what advertisers are willing to pay to place ads on our hubs. They pay differently depending on the time of year. Back to School Shopping time = higher CPM. Holiday shopping time = higher CPM. October is kind of a funny month between back to school and the holidays so we earn less. Hang in there. You will be earning more in November and December with the holidays.
ha.... I'm looking for the stairs-- they seem to have disappeared.
My earnings are dropping as well though my traffic isn't down much. Sometimes it's just that advertisers aren't paying as much for views/clicks for a particular month. Sometimes it's that the keywords we're using have lost their worth.
Yes, earnings are definitely lower. There is normally a drop at the start of business quarters, especially at this time of year when advertisers tend to hold back until the Xmas season is in full flow. But it does seem a bit worse this year.

A bit of background first...I joined HP almost two years ago, did a bit of writing and then stopped for a long time. Then went back and got into the apprenticeship program. My hits, on average per day, were a total of 100. I know how much I'd earn from HP per day from that to hit...

I have seen everyone saying how great Flipboard is at increasing traffic. I remember a similar experience I had when first using Reddit. Back then, I got high traffic numbers, but not much extra money. Are high traffic numbers from Flipboard converting to dollars?

This has been a problem for years now, really since the induction of the HubPages ad program and it's pretty much what has made me give on on HubPages (I used to write a lot, now seldom.)I have a hub that occasionally gets huge bursts of traffic as it's popular in social media. On those days, I...

After two weeks of steady increase in traffic views, my traffic views are plunging today. It is like the stock market, taking weeks to crawl up slowly and then plunging overnight. Once it hits rock bottom, it will be another steady ride upwards.

Has anyone else experienced this huge drop in earnings from the Hubpages Ad Program? Throughout the month of September I was making a steady amount per day. Over September 24-25, my earnings dropped immediately by 50%, and are now consistently 50% less than what they were a month ago. If it were a...

I was refraining about talking about this but it really is bad. Last month with adsense was my most profitable month, but this month so far I got 3 clicks...What could have made this change?-New Hubpages Layout?-April 1st Conflicker Virus? I was thinking these two things can't be so harmful to my...
