Hey there! So I published an article a few days ago and asked for feedback from different people. Some people said it's very short and kinda a copy of other articles so I should rewrite it. (I don't believe that it's a copy, those were my ideas but yes they are same as the article they mentioned) I truly appreciated the feedback and started rewriting it on my journal( i didn't make edits on the article). And just today I saw that my article is featured. Do you think I should still rewrite it or let it go?
Secondly, if I make edits on my article now, will it go through quality assessment again? Can a featured article get unfeatured once its edited?
Try submitting it to a niche site. If it is not accepted, it could probably use some improvement.
Thank you so much! I just submitted my article. Let's see if it makes it to the niche site.
Featured just means not bad enough to fail the assessment process. Do as Will points out and submit it to a niche site. If it does not make it, you still have a lot of editing to do.
If it makes it, you have a little editing to do but wait until you see how traffic is going, at least 3 months.
I read your conversation with Bev about copying. Even if the ideas are the same, it is not considered a copy unless you plagiarize the words. I made up a list of best dog breeds for people that work all day, based on my experiences, and since that time (about 5 years ago) the ideas on it have been copied over and over. When I check the rankings on Google, my recommendations have the featured snippet, as well as the top positions, but they are from other sites, not my HP article. My original article has fallen to number 3.
So, if you read an article that is number one with Google, and you copy the ideas without plagiarizing it, Google will not care. As Bev pointed out, your article will not beat the older article unless you write it in such a way that it is considered better.
Oh I got it now, thank you sm for explaining!
So by Google ranking you mean the order in which links appear once you write the name on the search bar!!?
And yeah since you mentioned about traffic, I wanna ask that what can I do to increase the traffic? My poem made it to the niche site but I noticed that traffic is kinda falling. Does this happen to most of the hubs?
Sad to say, poetry does not usually do very well at HubPages, or on the internet generally. People aren't looking for it.
Oh I see. So can you tell how to choose a topic that's going to attract traffic? I am so sorry for asking so many stupid questions. It's just that I love to write and it's lil bit confusing.
Sorry again. Much love!
Have a look at my profile by clicking on the photo. You'll see an article on the slider called 'How to Write a Good Article for HubPages'. I'm not allowed to put the link here but you'll find it. There are suggestions in it how to search for a good topic, which saves me typing it all out here
Do not expect signficant traffic to your article for some time. You have to have some faith that this will eventually work, and keep writing for a year or two until you see results.
Articles that help people find a solution to their problems will be successful. Yes, this is vague. If anyone had the perfect answer to this, they would most likely already be writing those articles.

I recently had a hub un-featured for engagement, as the half-circle indicates. I think this is an unfair practice and should be eliminated entirely. Here's why I feel this way:Our hub traffic is often affected by the time of year, holidays, seasons, and current events to name a few. If left alone,...

OK, I am seeing a worrisome trend that's repeating itself too often. My clients talk to me about one of their dog's behavior problems, so we go over some basics and then I Google the name of an article I have featured on hubpages so to print it out and give it as a hand-out, and it's no where to...

This last year I improved my hubs and had 112 featured of 130 articles: Now suddenly they bust me down to only 30 featured hubs. I feel this contributes to a websites decline. I made a comment on a survey that I don't get any payout for this site and gave my opinion, and now...
