I have noticed over the last couple of weeks that Pinterest has changed how you can share your hubs. Before, the image left enough room for you to add text to explain what it was about. Now it is just the image. A lot of us do have writing on the first Image, but I have a lot that doesn't. I think unless we all change our first image the lack of explanation i.e. text is going to shoot us in the foot, so to speak. Any thoughts?
Yep, open Pinterest, go to the Pin, click on the 'Edit' pencil and add a description. It's a pain but only takes a minute.
Pinterest seems to be constantly making changes that make it more difficult to use!
I would say that it's important that the first photo on all of our articles be "shareable" on social media anyway.
I like a wider image to open as that displays onto Facebook nicely then generally put a Pinterest friendly image after the next text module but have found that the Maven editors are changing my pics. Not sure I agree with their choosing but not sure what else one can do if they want to stay in the new sites.
Well, this thread sufficiently reminded/enticed me to go post another couple articles on Pinterest.
Hi, Friday morning for me. Second cup of coffee as I become coherent for another adventuresome day. Looks like I will meet my self-imposed deadline of having everything year 2020 updated by the end of the month. As for Twitter/Pinterest/Facebook, as others have said, pretty much a waste of time; yet we all, including me, still keep posting there occasionally. Hope springs eternal.
If you have the Pinterest extension on your browser you don't have to go and edit it after you've pinned it. You can still add the text in the box before pinning.
Used to be able to, but hasn't let me do it lately.
I used it today.
It does need to be updated from time to time, maybe yours is just out of date.
Update my what?
I use the Pinterest button on the hub images and also have another on my browser. I've tried both and no description appears. I have to go back in and edit the pin.
It's probably a browser thing - it often is.
What Krysanthe said works for me currently. No problems for with Chrome extension and saves having to edit post-pinning. Tried it again 5 mins ago, all fine.
Yes I have added it to my browser, so it's cool now, thank you!

The last time editors went through PetHelpful, they replaced some of my top images with new images with text on them, apparently to attract more social media shares. That was fine and I thought the editor did a good job. Now, they are going through and removing those images, replacing them with...

I finally tried including a Made for Pinterest (MFP) image in my latest Hub! WryLilt and others have provided great tips on how to do this to increase traffic. I decided to give it a try.I attempted to add the text to the photo using GIMP 2 (a free graphics program), but this was not...

It seems my answers got lost in the last thread. So here is the simple way to get pins. Make an image like the one above (with your hub title), place it on your hub and leave it. That's it. It's simple. Using this technique I have over 30,000 pins on my hubs. Yes, it IS that simple, although I have...

I've done this on a few hubs. Maybe it's a good idea because if someone does an image search, the photo with text relevant to the content of the hub can stand out amongst the competition. What do you think?

I mean the title of our article and an image from the article. I just joined, and don't have a clear understanding of the process. How does this work?

Hi all! As some of you may have noticed, we’ve begun changing all top images on PetHelpful to landscape orientation. This pushes more content “above the fold” on articles (especially on mobile devices, where we get the majority of our traffic), which should help keep readers on the page.We are also...
