I am bit confused by seeing the ad report. It has a column for traffic no. and another is impressions. Both column shows different sums. What is that mean and are impressions adding in the final sum.
An impression is earned when someone stays on the page long enough to see (if not read) the advertisements. You could get more than one impression from one reader if they hang around longer.
So to get paid, you need impressions. To get impressions you need readers.
If someone clicks on you article and immediately presses the back button, it may count as a visit, but not as an impression. That's why writing unique, engaging, and in-depth articles is important.
Thank you for clearing my doubt by providing your elaborative information on traffic and impressions.

Even taking into account Hubpages' share, with the amount of ads, shouldn't it be a multiple of views? I reckon, there should be about 6 impressions per article, but instead, there's only about .5 on average.

Used to be that I can check my HPads earnings every 6 or 7 pm (our time) but now, the earnings for the day are posted more than 12 hours after the usual time and today it's still not updated. I'm trying to see if there's any advice on this or some kind of glitch. Anybody knows about this?
