Sorry, Bev. But that what I searched according to different websites like Wikipedia, Britanica, and even British government websites. What is the truth about it?

No, the Welsh flag isn't part of the Union flag but it has its own. It's just the best looking flag in the world big_smile

It is pretty cool with the dragon. I think most of the other "dragon flags" have Asian-style dragons.

Eire should've continued to use their flag with the harp on it, I also think. More fun than just three strips of colour!

I suppose I would be a bit nit-picky over some minor grammatical errors. Most of them aren't errors either, but some small changes would help the flow.

For example, I would leave out 'different' in the first sentence because it's unnecessary.  I'd go through the text looking for words which don't do anything, such as "attached to a flagpole and is used to represent..." You don't need 'is'.

There are many instances of the verb 'to be' that can be deleted. It sharpens up your writing. Look out for: is, was, were, are.

Here: "Originally, the flags had a bloody conception. It was usually carried by warriors on a battlefield..." You go from plural to singular. So... "Flags had a bloody origin as they were carried by warriors on the battlefield..."

It's still an awkward sentence and I might try to reword it completely, "Flags were originally (tribal/clan symbols?) carried by warriors in battle." I don't know but I would guess that the lighter flags replaced heavier wooden standards?

Here's a missing word, "Each rival used different flags..." Each rival what? Army? Tribe? Otherwise it looks like every member of the army carried a flag.

"One-third of the country in the world has religious symbols..."
"One-third of countries have religious symbols..."

I can't go through it all, just do your best to tighten it up. Your English is excellent and, as I say, the changes are minor. If you make them, the article will be easier to read and you'll make your points with more emphasis.

Oh, just noticed something... the British flag is only called the 'Union Jack' when it is flown on a ship. When flown on land, it is the Union flag. People always get it mixed up, especially Brits smile

Without reading it in detail I saw linguistic problems, e.g. "Old Glory" is a name and needs to be capitalized, and factual issues such as the St. George's Cross being described as a "saltire", which it isn't, a saltire runs between diagonal corners.

I assume that there are many more errors, I didn't read the article in detail and my knowledge of many flags is limited, but in the small sample I went through there were obvious errors. Although I gave two examples above, I could've given more.

The problem for you as the writer is that the errors undermine your ability to present yourself as someone who is knowledgeable about flags.

Thank Paul. I will recheck it. I thought saltire and crosses are the same things.

    Hi Eric, How are you?
I suggest you use Adobe Photoshop or an edited app to border the flag .
