Spinning software thoughts

It occurred to me that one day the spinning software will be so good that people who don't have reasonable language skills will be able to use it to post work that is indistinguishable from English written by a native or advanced speaker, even if they have little idea what the content actually means.

At that point, there will be no advantage in being able to write good English, and the internet will just be flooded with regurgitated material that's essentially been autogenerated.

    What a depressing thought.

I wasn't aware of spinning software, but I'm American born and have a pretty good command of our language, despite all it's nuances and exceptions to the "rules", so I would have no need.

It seems our cohorts who are not yet prolific at English are not aware of spinning software.

When I read their profiles or the language they use in these forums, it's apparent they need to polish their English before expecting a payout or a secure place in searches. Granted, English is the hardest language to learn BECAUSE we have so many exceptions to the rules, but a non-English speaking person (one for whom it's not native) who has featured or "niched" articles, but poorly written profiles, is a red flag. Too bad our profiles don't play into Google's algorithms. Or do they? I have no clue.

Another comment I'd like to make is the editors too often feature articles that are sub-par, even from native English speakers. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason in what moves out of HP and what doesn't.

I've been getting a hell lot of promotions for these in my FB feeds, and I wonder whether I should report them. Most blatantly promise instant writing success. Or a way around plagiarism issues.

But technically, I think such software would ever only only do much. They might churn out technically perfect essays, given another 10 years or so, but these will always be mechanic and stiff. They will also only be as good as what the user keys in for a reference.

Great writers, with their creativity, with their human insights, will always be capable of producing something better. Much better.

bravewarrior - Spinning has always been very common on here. At least some of the daily forum posts regarding help with articles one sees on here are spun. People copy and paste an article and then software alters the words slightly so that it can't be detected as a duplicate. There used to be thousands of spun articles featured on this site. However, since the niches they have another hoop to jump through, which has effectively weeded out a big portion.

CYong74 - I hope you're right. I feel that the spinning has got better in recent times. Less clumsy. It used to be terrible ten years ago. One still sees glaring giveaways, but still... Just as images and videos are increasingly easy to manipulate, so that one can't discern the fakes or originals, it concerns me that writing may not be far behind.
