Has anyone else noticed a sudden drop in traffic for the last 1-2 weeks? Usually, the traffic surges during the weekends, but it's the other way around these days. Whatever it is, it's a little disheartening.
On another forum, we've been chatting about the Google update. It could be that. https://hubpages.com/community/forum/35 … te-is-live
The traffic on HP is going up and down. Last week it was high but this week, the traffic is low. Well, that is what I have noticed on my hubs. The earning is going up though.
Had to go into Analytics because I don't pay as much attention to traffic as I do to earnings. Traffic had kind of gone up a little a couple weeks ago but my traffic has been more or less steady. I wouldn't say a significant drop.
Traffic goes up, traffic goes down. Nature of the beast. (shrugs)
Not sure what's happening. i thought it was just the summer drop-off at first, but maybe it's something else. My traffic is still much better than this period last year though.
There are no major changes to the algo according to SEO Round Table.
As FatFreddysCat says, one shouldn't get too worked up about short term changes. Even if it were an algo update, they can take weeks to unfold, and then there's all the adjustments after that.
There's been several Google algorithm updates recently. One the weekend before last and another on Wednesday. The Wednesday one didn't have many symptoms initially, but SERP volatility is now very high. The worst scenario is when traffic goes off a cliff and then it takes months or years to recover.

Thanks for posting! I noticed that I have a few hubs surging, which can be a sign of an algo change (boosted in order to check them out with traffic). I guess we'll see what happens. No reason to believe that traffic is going off a cliff at this stage.
Everyone seems to have a good story to tell about traffic in the past week or so.
Mine is the opposite. The day AFTER the announced site upgrade/ maintenance, my traffic crashed fatally.
So far, about 40% loss!

A few weeks ago, I posted some thoughts on why traffic is falling for many writers and what we might do about it. One of the things I considered is that massive rewrites and fresh articles may be the ticket to clawing back on some of these traffic drops. Here is some more food for thought on that...

Twice this week, I checked AdSense, and saw some nice earnings in the 30 to 50 cents range, due to ad clicks (I assume). Both times, these earnings disappeared when I checked back again a few hours later. I understand that earnings are not final until final, but the most recent case was...

Although I doubt this is an HP bug, I'll post it in the tech problems anyway -Yesterday traffic jumped about 20%. Almost all from one hub:HP stats says that hub got 350 views, up 300 from normal, with 275 of it from Yahoo. That's a weeks worth of traffic from Yahoo for the entire...

After the alleged Google alogrithim update probably after 10 December my traffic has fallen drastically from more then 150 views per day to 50. Traffic was steadily rising but after 10 dec it suddenly plunged showing no signs of recovery. (hubs have remained unchanged).

Google's latest update was more than just EMD's.Welcome to Panda update 20."Google has confirmed with us that on Thursday, September 27th, they released a Panda algorithm update – this would be the 20th Panda update and thus we are naming it Panda 20. This is a fairly major Panda update that...
