    Hello Beautiful souls,

I'm looking for some guidance. If I want to create a flip book (Ebook) out of some of my hubs and link it to my HubPages profile ( in follow me here website icon) will it cause any issues with my hubs, I mean will HubPages flag them as duplicate (possibly copied by someone else)? Or is it a good idea to unpublish some of my hubs and publish them as kindle edition, such as those that Hubpages does not transfer to niches or claim as YMYL content?

    Thank you so much! smile

There is no reason why you can’t do that Misbah. I wrote an eBook of my early HubPages poetry with a link back to my HubPages profile. Lots of people have written chapters of stories here for feedback before publishing them as a book.
HubPages only seems to flag content as duplicate if it is published on other websites, not as books. I say go for it. Good luck.

Thanks for the info, John. I've been thinking about publishing a book of my short stories that would include some I've published on HP. I'd wondered about that, too. I've published on Kindle before, and I'm not impressed with the response because there's no really good way to promote our ebooks. If there is, I wish someone would tell me how.

That is okay MizB. I didn’t publish my eBook on Kindle because at the time Amazon would not pay royalties into an Aussie bank account or PayPal. They would only pay by check and then charge $8 for each one sent out. I was selling my book for $4.99, so if I only sold two or three a month, deducting $8.00 wasn’t worth it. They have probably changed that policy now. Promoting your eBook is the hardest thing, and apart from sharing on Facebook etc (which your friends soon get sick of) I am not sure what else you can do. HubPages doesn’t support any self-promotion.

John and Ms. Doris, I have an idea. Let's make forum posts to promote each others' Ebooks. Lol! HubPages will not really mind if we do that. This is the most beautiful way to break rules big_smile tongue

Here is Matt's response to my email regarding this question.

Thanks for sharing Matt's response, Misbah. I knew we could link our books to our HubPages account/profile but not promote them in articles, but it is good to have it in writing. Maybe we could promote each other's eBooks in the forums like we do each other's articles but I have a feeling that would not be allowed.

Mizbah, it would amount to self-promotional. And, of course, hubpages does not and will never support that on any of its' websites.

Miebakagh, Matt said that I can link my ebook to my HubPages profile, but I am not permitted to promote it in my articles. smile

Another option is to group them together and publish them on Kindle. That's something I wan to try if I ever get around to it. My list of things to do is getting too long and I only have so many years left to do them in (Not that I intend to pop my clogs anytime yet smile )
