A Challenge to Hubbers

HubPages has awarded me the Helpful accolade for which I am profoundly grateful. I'm just waiting for the company to send me the air tickets and accommodation details so that I can go to the awards ceremony.
In the email notifying me of the good news, HubPages suggested that I might become an even more valued member of our community by asking Hubbers for advice on how to prepare my motorcycle for the rainy season and asking for simple knitting patterns. As I don't have a motorcycle, I can only assume that HubPages is going to give me one as part of the award package. Also, I can't knit but am willing to learn.
So, the challenge that I clearly have to meet is to knit a waterproof protective cover for my new Harley.
    Can anyone help?

Hey Stephen, congratulations on your winning the helpful accolade.                                      Honestly, I don't know how to knit, nor do I have a motor-cycle, but a car. I hope those in the know will input their best soon. Thanks.

Would crochet work for you, Stephen? You could shred up old plastic grocery bags, wind the strands into yarn and away you go.

      Helpful? big_smile

    Congratulations!

It sounds like you're shooting for the sarcasm accolade next!

I had to buy my own plane ticket for the awards ceremony and pay for it out of the $10,000 prize money. It was outrageous!

Crochet might work but it sounds as if it might take some time. With $10,000 and a new Harley, I might see myself springing out for the plane ticket. Non-knitting car drivers are valuable members of society but can't help with this particular challenge.
Assuming that I master the skill of knitting waterproof motorcycle covers, I could start an online business selling personalized covers (here, plastic bags might not be the best materials) and branch out to knitted car covers. Hubbers will get a discount on bulk orders.

    Thanks to all.

Why do I feel that you are skimming over the part where they also referred to you as a "Great HubPages Citizen"? wink tongue

    Self-promotion Is Overrated—really?!

I actually don't see myself as a "Great HubPages Citizen", Misbah. But, while you're here, can I interest you in a homemade knitted motorcycle cover?

Haha! Well, Steve, I'm not a 'Great HubPages Citizen' either; as for the knitted cover, that's grannies' job; I'm too young for such a tedious activity. Lol! big_smile
