I’m new to HubPages, and my first hub isn't passing the boot camp. My first article is about book recommendations.

In that article, I added a little background for each author, the topics of the books that will cover and my personal review.

When my hub is being rejected, I always check my grammars, and the infos that I wrote. I always think that there's something missing.

My article isn't that long. 574 is the word count. I think that is one of the problems.

Can my fellow hubbers please help me in order to improve my hubs?

Can you please share some tips for beginners like me?

Yes, read all the material in the Learning Center, click Help, top right to navigate there.

And yes, 574 words is too short. Aim for around double that. I would say that each single book review needs at least 500 words to offer anything useful to the reader. You have to make sure you include unique information that can't be found on Amazon.

Ensure you have read them all and have a well-thought-out personal opinion on each.

      Welcome to HubPages smile

First, welcome to hubpages.                                        Seriously, I agree with the theraggedge. Go to the learning center, and spent at most 2 weeks there before re-writing the article to 1500 words.                               That's a must for new comers.                            Critically, I wondder if you wrote the post for help, to get out of the Boot Camp...because the tone and language are not in tandem. One, and two writers here, seem not to understand your reaction to the theraggedge comment. Thanks.

golusingh9285 - The policies are all clearly explained in the Learning Centre that theraggededge has already directed you to.

One major requirement is that writing must be in near-perfect English. Your communications in this thread suggest you are falling short of the standard.

Many elements have to come together for success here. As Rupert says, you're essentially doomed without pretty much perfect English.

It's not purely the article writing either, profile pics and "About" sections also have to be professional. "I am a Blogger & digital marketer" is not a biography that provides the reader with a sense of trust in the writer's experience and expertise.

    How can i pass the........

what is the minimum wordprequirement for the article

The recommended word count is stated when you start a new hub. Depending on your topic, it's not necessarily a must.

No matter how words you write, your language must still be near perfect. Your content must be meaningful and sensible too.

We cannot see your article this way. In the rejection email, there are instructions to generate a URL that enables other hubbers to view.

The minimum word requirement is between 1,000 and 1,500 words.                              That said, maintaining a 1,700 word is still acceptable, depending on the topic. Much thanks.

Numerous times you've been directed to the Learning Center for answers. If you chose to ignore that advice there's nothing more we can do to help you.

It's funny how people ask for advice or information, then ignore or argue with everything that they're told. It's common behavior, but it's a great way to fail, in my opinion.

Sometimes I feel like people only want feedback that fits with their existing notions. By definition, not accepting new info or advice that runs contrary to existing beliefs sets you on a road to nowhere.

Yeah, funny thread. "Please critique my article, just do not say anything negative about it."

I think many such new hubbers expected quick, easy, instant fixes when they ask for help. "Improve your grammar," "read the learning center," etc, are thus extremely unattractive options that they wouldn't even consider. I suspect many such newbies came here because they read elsewhere that it's so easy to earn money by writing online.

If not, they expect to be mollycoddled and sweet talked to. "Oooh, I really love this. This is so important to the world. But maybe you should ..."

Yes, for sure. I saw a similar thing happen when I went to writing groups before online writing was even a thing.

I think the Dunning–Kruger effect can often play a part. Beginners can severely underestimate how difficult writing actually is.

Taking advice is taking a practical lesson. It's not taking a curse.
