Those are the views so far for Sunday, for an article published at the start of January and moved to Dengarden.

"How to Make a Snow Rake for Fast Cleaning of Roofs"

Did I hit the jackpot on this one I wonder?

Only 13% are organic however and 84% direct, so I'm not sure whether they're coming from social media or some other source.

Thanks. Whether it'll last is another thing. I guess heavy snow load on roofs is a thing at the moment with the extreme winter storms in the US and Canada.

Thanks. It's dropped down to less than 20 now which was inevitable. I would like to know where the traffic was coning from though. It wasn't classified as social.

Congrats! I have seen when there is such great traffic it is often coming from NewsBreak app. You should check under referrers. I have one viral right now (although not as many views) getting most of the traffic from there.

Some of the referral traffic is coming from news.google.com.

I had some boost of traffic from newsbreakapp as well. It happened 3 weeks ago on one of my newly published articles. It lasted for a few days, then it stop. It was the first time I receive traffic from that source

That's awesome, I guess our articles are being featured there too now!

I don't know how they select them. Maybe there's a bookmarking system where users of the site can pin articles. I'd love if Pocket picked up some articles.

....or maybe it's another site I'm thinking of that recommends articles for reading? Firefox recommends articles from the site.

Sounds good but is likely temporary, given the source.

I was just thinking that I haven't seen any big temporary surges for any individual hubs of mine for ages, not really for over 3 months. I was getting a lot at one time.

I had one of my articles do that a couple of weeks back and the views stayed high though slowly receding for about three of four days. It showed the referrer just as msn.com.

Interestingly, even though impressions doubled since Saturday with the increased traffic, CPM also increased by 50%, whereas it usually falls with increased impressions, so the ads on that article must have been relatively high value types due to the readers' interests or article content. The other thing is that if traffic goes really high, it may result in higher bidding ads being shown?

      That’s wonderful smile
I was going to ask; did it reflect substantially in your earnings?

Well I made about $11 extra yesterday. As I said above, CPM increased even though impressions increased, so the ads must have been higher value (unless there was a jump in CPM for everyone this weekend)

I don't see the keyword value thing as being particularly mysterious, you can just check values on SEM Rush or one of those sites. The amounts are going to be in the same ballpark as HP, I believe.

It used to be easier with the Google keyword tool, but it's still not difficult.

A "make your own snow rake" is going to have a much higher value than, say, a facts for kids or maths article.

You will do well if it maintains traffic.

Let's hope it snows more. Who's the god of snow so I can venerate him/her?

            Edit: Ullr or Khione apparently.
