How should i edit an article permalink before the article is published? the article is in the draft stage.

or, can i pause the review of the article for editing?

The permalink is automatically created based on the article's title. If you're still in draft stage, change the title to how you want the permalink to appear.

I changed the title but it was not reflected in the permalink. Pls explain the steps for changing the permalink.

You can't change the permalink. It automatically populates based on the title (once you hit Save).

You could always delete the article and start over using the new title.

You only have one chance to change the permalink. Once you are at the page where you write your actual content, there is no way to change it.

No prob. As bravewarrior suggested, delete the draft to start again if you made a mistake.

I think the URL is extremely important for SEO, personally.

You can only modify the URL when you first create the article. We recommend omitting years and numbers from URLs so that they remain evergreen as the article evolves.

Which is better? Should my permalink be specific or general?

Specific title are much better. Online visitors usually search for specific solution to specific problems.

The title should be specific and can be changed later as needed when updating the content, but the permalink should be made general so it works whenever you change the title later.

Remember that you can only change the permalink when you are in the first page of the Hubtool—beginning the creation of a new hub. You cannot change it after that. So think about making it general when starting a new hub.
