Potential Clients Asking for Videos

    Of late, I've had two potential clients ask for a video where I tell them about my writing experiences. What's happened? They say they like my writing but want a video. It's like an auction!

      Nobody should ask you for a video. That sounds suspicious to me. I usually meet with others over a call on Zoom or Teams when it's business related or see them in person if possible.

      But to record a video about writing experiences that one can easily link in an email? That sounds odd to me. I wouldn't trust a company requesting this.

        Yes. It's odd. When I went to the link, there was no request for a video. They only wanted writing samples. So that is strange!

    If I was a potential employer looking for writers/ copywriters I think I'd want a personal touch and to actually get to know who I'd be employing. Therefore I think a video might be a good idea or a Teams/ Zoom call. Use it as an opportunity.

      Good point. I do zoom interviews gladly. A personal video with a company I don't know seems odd. I am seriously considering creating a webpage with a video, photo, resume and sample work.
