Google Analytics question

    I finally got around to adding Google Analytics to my Hub Pages account. When setting up my Google account, I got this notification:

    "On July 1, 2023, this property will stop processing data. Starting in March 2023, for continued website measurement, you should create a new Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property, or one will be created for you based on your original property and reusing existing site tags."

    When Google makes this change, is there anything I need to do on the Hub Pages side or will Hub Pages admin take care of it? I tried using the GA4 code when setting up Analytics on my HP account but HP says it's invalid so I used the legacy tracking code from Google.

      HP has informed us that we won't need to do anything. They'll make the conversion.

        Shauna, that’s incorrect. After HubPages makes the change, we’ll need to change our Google code from the one starting with “UA” to the new Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property code.

        You can apply for that in your Google Analytics account anytime, but it won’t work on HubPages until they make the change to support it. Matt said it will be done.

        I’m already using GA4 on my site and it gives a lot more tracking information. I’m looking forward to having it on HubPages too.
